DISCOVER MARBLE & GRANITE

When we remodeled our kitchen, a friend recommended Discover. We live in Ft Myers. From the initial meeting to the installation we were treated like we were their only client. They were very helpful and friendly. Their time estimates for the installation were perfect. We had one glitch, which was with our contractor taking a few days off in the middle of our project. However, Discover worked with us through this delay and was ready when our contractor completed his part. When the job was almost completed I was told their machine failed on the last seamed piece and I had a choice. They could take the counter out and replace but I would risk cracking the backsplash. Or I could have a new piece put in and they would make sure it matched. To me, it did not match and the replacement seam is bigger than the original. It is also jagged and sharp. I have to put a cutting board over it to use the area. They have sent techs out to try and make it better. The last tech said he could only fill it more but it would not make it better. Now they won’t do anything more. I spend 10,000$ on this job and I cry every time I look at that part of my kitchen. I am enclosing pictures of a good seem and then the bad area. So you can judge for yourself.

The kitchen and master bathroom turned out was fabulous - Marceau and Phillipe did the install on these two rooms and were excellent A+ for them. The mitered corners were perfect and the seams almost invisible. The guest bathroom only had one small countertop and splash and it was a struggle for the two different men that were sent and they struggled with English making it hard for me to explain or question much. They cut too big of a hole for an electric outlet and had to make a new splash - which they did within two hours. The second splash was a tight fit and they had to trim a small bit off for it to fit. The caulk was very apparent because it was a milky color against dark beige quartz. I would not hesitate to recommend Marceau and Phillipe for any countertop job as they knew their stuff. On the guest bathroom that the other guys did the corner miter did not look near as good, and the hole drilled for the faucet was a tiny bit off which hindered the faucet installation. Discover were prompt in getting it fixed immediately. Also, Marceau came back and fixed the caulk job (using clear instead of a milky color) and made the small bathroom look almost as good as the kitchen job. I would definitely use Discover again, but would ask for Marceau to come back for sure.

The owner told me by phone that this was the best they could do and refused to deal with the problem. She even asked me if I wanted to cancel the backsplashes.  I could not believe that she actually said that to me.
