CARLSON'S FLOORING AMERICA

Carlson's American Flooring claims to have their own installers, but they don't, and they provide zero oversight of their subcontractors. This has led to a lawsuit because of multiple soft spots in my vinyl plank flooring and damages to my home, including water leaks and mold caused by poor toilet reinstallation, holes in the wall and drywall repair, and painting over scratched walls. Carlson will not claim responsibility for any damages and is quick to file a lien rather than repair. Totally avoid this flooring company. Travis Carlson and company do not deserve your hard-earned money.

Ordered the flooring over the phone after seeing online. Absolutely love the flooring. Installers Sam and Jake were awesome. Problem was with the salesperson. He stated job start to finish would be three days. i allowed four, in case. First day Demo workers arrived at 10 a m. Gone in four hours. Starting time is between 9 and 11 a m. Thought that strange. Day two, installers arrived at 10, left at 3:15. Hmm I knew this job would not be finished in a timely manner. I called store to speak with owner Travis. He did put more guys on the job. On day two I had salesperson out to Measure to continue flooring in two bedrooms. After two days, I call him. He gives me a price. I tell him to email to me so I can let my husband review. Three more days go by, I call again, no email as I had requested. He says he would have it to me that day. I informed him there were three full boxes of wood left over from previous job. Low and behold, he sends me a quote adding an extra $500, and using the left over wood. When I questioned this, he said his on the phone quote was a “ballpark estimate” those words were never said to me. He was trying to charge me more than half for these two small bedrooms, than I paid for a living room, two eating areas, kitchen, Long hallway, laundry room and guest bath. For spending this amount of money, I have never been so stressed. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. I again reached out to the owner, no response. Very frustrating.

Be prepared to be over sold on product an installer says should not be used for proper installation, deal with trying to get a refund and then have them tell you after they started the job they under estimated the cost of materials and then bully you into paying more even though they came out, measured, and do not have possible extra materials cost in their contract. They even threatened to not do the job right if I did not pay extra for the extremely overpriced materials.

I highly recommend Carlson's Flooring America. We were challenging customers, changing our minds several times.  We also had some long construction delays.  Carlson's was extremely patient and helpful making sure that in the end we were completely satisfied.  Everyone we dealt with was very friendly and knowledgeable.  The installation occurred on time and was expertly done.  The carpet and tile are beautiful.  We are thrilled with the results!

Installation went well and job completed in one day. A few days after the installation, a quarter round piece of trim fitted around a slight curve on the bottom step of the the stairs split.
Carlson Flooring came around and fixed the problem.
This piece has split again.
There is also a piece of trim lifting in front of the patio doors. Needs glueing.
I have called four times over the last four weeks asking to speak to Travis Carlson, VP. Each time I was promised he would call back.
As of today. no call backs.
On there brochure they state there is a life time warranty!
They obviously have no intention of fulfilling there advertising promises.

The price was average. I did not like the fact they did not call back when I left messages. In the end, it was. This was after many calls on my part and they did not return calls. Generally, we were happy with them, but the floor was not left clean enough. He came back to clean it and he went on his hand and knees with a rag. I thought that was inefficient. They left glue on it. I had to finish the cleaning myself. Once they get you as a customer, and I'm finding this in Florida, they don't always pull through. You have to push and push. I used to work in customer service, the customer is always right, even when they are wrong.

Travis at the store provided samples of laminate flooring for us to take home and evaluate.
After making our choose, Travis's father came around and measured the area to have the laminate laid. Spot on!
The installers completed the installation in one day.
We had one minor item we were not happy with and this was dealt with promptly. Extremely pleased with the finished job.
We have nothing but praise for everybody at Carlons. Courteous, friendly and professional.
