"This client signed an agreement for service with our company, which detailed specific move-related tasks and research he wanted us to accomplish for him. It was explained to him that these services were considered billable work, and the agreement included a flat-price consultation fee, which he paid to us at time of agreement. He was told that the results of the research would be presented to him in written form. Over the next several days we addressed each of the tasks and provided the information in a typed report and through several email exchanges. We have assisted hundreds of area-residents with their moves, and we are very familiar with the Fort Myers area where this man was to move. The client was provided with documented information that included: two binding estimates from local movers; name and cost for reputable clock servicer to prepare his clocks for move; results from 3 consignment stores as to whether they would accept items he wanted to sell; costs and sizes of three self storage facilities; measurements, products, and costs associated with screened-porch protection for his dogs. The work involved more than the ‘couple of phone calls’ that the client claims. The client has not demonstrated why the information was un-useable. We can only assume that he did not like the costs associated with the various services/products we researched for him, but this is not something we control. We work with reputable, proven businesses, and the costs presented to the client were reasonable and customary for our area. The client wanted a refund, presumably because he did not like the information he received, but he did receive detailed answers and pricing for all of the items he requested. He asked we not complete one piece of information that was due to him, and we elected to refund him $55. This is the first complaint we have received in our four years of business. We have serviced hundreds of people, and are consistently referred by the area’s senior living communities because we provide written agreements, firm pricing, and great customer service and follow through."
