Detailing
This review is the truth and all the facts can be verified with pictures and video. I hired Yacht Management Professionals to detail my Boston Whaler 350 Outrage they told me it would take 2 days. I asked YMP to complete the job before I arrived so I didn’t waste 2 of my 12 days there watching them detail my boat, that was a big mistake. YMP sent an 18-year-old by himself to clean, polish and wax a 35’ boat. Day 1 he cleaned the boat inside and out. When I arrived, my inspection found the vessel clean but not to the extent if some spent 8 hours cleaning it. Most of the storage compartments were still dirty on the inside. Day 2 he polished and waxed. 1 person to polish and wax a 35’ boat (on a lift not dry dock) including the entire tee-top is near impossible to complete and do a thorough job. The starboard side had to be done on a floating work platform and anyone that has tried this knows this is no easy task. I didn’t watch my cameras the entire time the young man was there but I did glance at them at least every 15-20 minutes from my office computer. I never saw him on the T-Top. I assumed there was going to be a day 3?? Day 3 approximately 10am I sent my contact Savana a text asking when will they be back to finish the boat? She replied it’s done and she was going over to inspect shortly. I asked if the T-Top was done? She told me yes everything was complete except for the final washed down and dry. I told her that doesn’t seem right since I never saw him to the top. Around noon I checked my cameras and I see someone on the T-Top cleaning it!!! I was very frustrated and now I’m wondering how thorough of a job did they do on the rest of my boat? When I washed the boat, I noticed a couple areas on the hull side where the water didn’t bead up. This got me wondering did they polish and then wax the boat? If it was polished, I would assume the water would bead up even without wax on it? If the boat was actually both polished and waxed how can you miss the same area with both polish and wax? This brings me to the assumption the boat wasn’t polished they just waxed it. When I washed underside of the top, I noticed water beading up on the hatch to get on top of the boat but not a square inch of the underside of the top water beaded up. We went to dinner on the intracoastal. When I got off the boat, I looked at the T-Top (which was 3’ below me standing on the dock) and could clearly see a terrible “polish” and wax job. There were spots not done and there was a haze around the chrome and along the edge of the non-slip area. It clearly was done quick just to make me happy?? Savana called me 4 days after they finished the boat and asked how it looked. I told her I wasn’t happy at all and they did a terrible job. I also told her don’t bother coming back just send me what IOU and I’ll have a professional company come and do the vessel properly. I received the invoice at full price of what they quoted me. I told them this is ridiculous charging me the full amount and doing a crappy job. Grif (I assume the owner) contacts me and asks if he can make it right, I said sure. I told him I’m only in town for another week he said he would get someone over to look and I can show them my issues. This was on 03/17. On 03/25 around noon I get a call from Grif asking if I’m around for go over the boat with Alex their best detailer. I told him I wasn’t available after 3:30 and I’m leaving town the next day. Around 6:00pm Alex showed up to inspect when I wasn’t not home. 4:00pm the next day I get a call from Grif telling me I’m all set his best detailer Alex went over and re-did the T-Top and waxed down to the water line as they should have originally. I told him thank you very much for taking care of this. Via Venmo I pay him in full thinking I’m all set? Saturday 03/27 I’m feeling a little under the weather from my 2nd Covid shot so I review the video from Friday to see what Alex did. As I stated earlier the boat wasn’t cleaned all that well. I specifically told Grif I wasn’t happy about that but don’t worry about it after 1 day of fishing these areas are dirty anyway. I just really need a good polish and wax it’s was over 6 months since it was last done. What do I see on my camera? Alex cleaning the boat!! He wasn’t on top of the boat at all and didn’t touch the sides of the hull where I asked to please wax past the waterline. Alex did appear to wax the underside of the T-Top which wasn’t done by the 1st person. I email Grif Monday 03/29 with screenshots every 5 minutes showing him Alex never was on top of the boat and didn’t touch the side. I asked what happened you told Alex re-did the T-Top and wax the side to the waterline. You can clearly see from the pics he didn’t. Grif told me he would personally go out and inspect. This is great you want to personally go and inspect but the fact of the matter is you lied telling me Alex re-did the T-top and the side. The pics clearly show he did neither.
