I've been using Universal Air & Heat for years now. We recently had a new unit installed in my grandmother's condo by Steve the technician. A day after installation we realized there was a small leak in the waterline. Steve came out promptly and professionally every morning until the issue was resolved. We only had to call once and there were no excuses made, just results. Steve is a hard worker with a great attitude. Thanks again Universal Air & Heat - 10/10 Would Recommend!

Excellent! UAHAC went the extra mile (literally) in getting the hardware that was need for my challenge. During this time of Covid 19 do not be surprised that there may be hardware that is not readily available and this calls for the search of hardware across the entire state only to find that there is only one available and it is 150 miles from the install location. Our ac went out 1 week ago and everybody was 'to hot to handle' and my wife was hot, I was also. Now I am cool and my wife it back to her normal hotness. Yes everyone is smiling. Thank you UAHAC!

The first company couldn’t figure out where the problem was. Universal was on it and the problem was corrected in just under an hour. Their price was less than I was quoted by The company that couldn’t fix it.

We walked into our house and it was at 82 degrees. We called Universal and had someone come over right away. The repair man noticed the bad line drier, and was able to get us back up and running within an hour!

Everything went perfectly! My technician showed up on time as scheduled and couldn’t have been friendlier! He was very knowledgeable to my issues I had going on, and took the time to explain in detail what I needed and how he was going to handle it for me. they did a great job for me when i was in need of a new air conditioner . i called first thing in the morning when i realized my AC was broken and they had a technician out to me within one hr , it was unfortunate that my motor had went bad but my unit was already 18 years old so i figured it lived its life .. i decided to replace the air conditioner instead of dumping money into this old unit . my new air conditioner was installed the next day and installers were neat ,professional and clean . i would highly this company . big thumbs up !!! thanks

Worst experience I have ever had with any company, ever. Very overpriced. I scheduled a job to be completed and they were 2 hours late for this first appointment and did not complete the work because they did not have the part. I called 3 times prior and they did not tell anything other than that he is delayed. Why did they come out? Why did they have me wait? The second appointment they were late again by 1.5 hours! The entire time there was no communication whatsoever and they weren't very kind to our situation. They moved my appointment from the morning to the afternoon. DO NOT USE THEOR SERVICE!

I have an annual service contract with Universal Air & Heat. On Friday, April 27th I turned on my air conditioner and there was no air flow coming from the ducts. On Monday, April 31st, A technician came to my condo and after fifteen minutes said that the fan was bad and needed to be replaced. I explained that the fan should be covered by the manufacturers warranty, which he checked and said that it was covered and the labor cost to replace it would be $575.00 and would require a $200.00 deposit. I told him I thought that the cost was extremely high and he told me that there was a lot of labor involved to replace it. Also, at that point, what was I going to do? I needed to have my AC repaired and as stated, I had a contract with them and assumed the price was fair. The technician came back the next day, May 1st, and replaced the fan to get my AC working again. It took him about 25 minutes to do this. Bottom line, I paid $575.00 for less than one hour of labor for two calls. Needless to say, I feel that the charge is extremely excessive and borders on price gouging an existing client. I told the technician that I was going to dispute the charge, which I did. I sent an email to the company stating my displeasure and feeling I was price gouged. The owner, Michael Forgione, called me two days later. He said his charge in line with other a/c companies and to check with other companies. I then asked him what his hourly labor charge is and he responded $100.00 dollars an hour. This is obviously outrageous and likely not true. He then offered me a free annual service contract worth $150.00. Why would he do that if the charge was fair? I declined the offer and told him I would check the price with other companies. I then sent him a letter asking for an itemized breakdown of the $575.00 charge. No response, so I sent a registered mail letter requesting the same. Still no response. I then asked two companies for a price to replace a fan motor on my model unit. One quoted $275 the other $375, confirming that I was overcharged/price gouged for the work performed.

The service man came to my unit and said he thinks he will have to run a pipe from the roof to the first floor and etimates $765. He then discovered it was a leak on the roof, fixed it, and left after an hour. He used $30 in materials. He did not reduce the fee. BTW according to the state license site the management has been the same for the last 20 years....

When our technician found out that your neighbors AC guy damaged your AC our tech came down off your two-story roof and explain to you your options. Option one was to replace the section of pipe that leaked out all your Freon and refill your system with R410a refrigerant for a total of $765. You agreed and allowed my technician to move forward with the repair. Option two was to pay only $49 for our service call and diagnostic fee with no further obligation. We definitely did not just fix your Ac and come to you with a surprise $765.00 invoice. We warranty all of our work and with 40 service trucks here in Florida we will always be here for you in the event that you need immediate service in the future. Sincerely, Mike Forgione"

I wish I read reviews before I hired Universal, as it appears many customers had similar experience. This company is incompetent, unprofessional and their customer service is terrible. They are by far the worst contractor I ever hired. I used Universal for all my air/heating services for more than five years, paid them well over $10k to replace air ducts, units and provide AC maintenance at my house. I was a good customer. Last unit they installed in May 2016 in my house would not produce any AC after 3pm. My house temperature would get up to well over 80 degrees, which is well documented by numerous pictures of my thermostat I sent to Universal since May 2016. As it turned out, Universal improperly installed one of my AC units. The crew who installed it was completely unprofessional, incompetent and borderline offensive to my wife while I was absent during the AC installation, as evidenced by my correspondence with Universal at that time. What’s worse, is that the improper installation of the AC unit by Universal produced significant amount of condensation, which in turn caused a significant mold problem in my house, as evidenced by the pictures I sent to Universal. I had at least a dozen of emails and calls (records available) into Universal representative with requests to fix the problem. He insisted that the reason my AC unit was not functioning properly is that line connecting the unit and the compressor was leaking and that I had to replace it in order for my AC unit to function properly. I paid Universal $1,900 to replace the line, which made no difference whatsoever in the way my AC worked. My house temperature would still get up to well over 80 degrees. After few calls and emails company stopped responding. I finally hired a competent AC contractor who properly re-installed the unit. I paid him an additional $1,200, but at least now the AC unit works. I can not describe how frustrated and disappointed I am with Universal Air & Heat. After I spent well over $10k with them they left me hanging with no proper AC for well over a year. Between line replacement recommended by Universal, which turned out to be completely useless and unit re-installation I spent almost as much as on the unit itself. What’s worse is that because of their reckless incompetence my family was exposed to black mold. They have no idea what they are doing, they are unprofessional and their customer service is terrible. They are by far the worst contractor I ever hired.

"A big long story behind these lies. Past Inpection, he hired an unlicensed semi skilled laborer to re install the air handler with no permit and Now it’s not up to code. The Freon lines were replaced because last year we did a leak test and it was leaking Freon from the likes. We replaced the lines and almost a year later when we went out for another service call the customer freaked out yelling saying that he waisted 1,900 on Freon lines that he thought he didn’t need. Come to find out it was a clogged drain line and the unit was shut off from the safety float switch."
