TOMMY LEE STRYDER-GUITAR INST

Both my children took guitar lessons with Tommy. My daughter took from the age or 13 until she left for college. My son from age 9 until he left for college at 19. My son in particular, showed both a talent and a passion for guitar at a young age (we are a family of musicians), and all he needed was Tommy's great care, guidance, interest and abilities as a teacher to develop Ross into the amazing lead guitarist he is today. Both kids now play professionally, daughter in NYC as a songwriter, singer, son lead guitarist in a band in Florida. They both have day jobs, but are blessed to play music as a second job. This is their passion, and, as a psychotherapist, I believe that a driving passion keeps kids out of trouble.
Tommy himself is an amazing musician and teaches many genres, and will work with you in your favoite one. He challenged my kids, inspired them, and taught them the right way. I think the world of him and would recommend him to anyone without hesitation. Along with being an amazing teacher, he is a great guy. Although my kids are now 25 and 30, he still asks about them and cares about what they're doing.

Learninghow to first play a string instrument could be a daunting experience. However, learning how to play with Tommy Stryder has been a very encouraging and rewarding experience. Tommy's patience and compassion for helping others to learn how to play, feel confident and most important enjoy learning is a rare find. Tommy has introduced me to new techniques, styles, and rhythms in a
variety of genres that would appeal to me. He does not shy away from introducing me to challenging lessons, though I might express skepticism about my ability to learn the new material. He breaks the learning into steps that are quickly attainable, building confidence to go beyond what was just taught. Tommy has been very attentive in correcting subtleties in my technique which have made a huge difference in my playing. I recommend Tommy Stryder as a music teacher without hesitation and I am so glad I found him.
