Kitchen Renovation: The first red flag is representing himself as Steve Perez on Angi’s list when in fact his name is Ziv. There’s the hard sell and false promises (finish a kitchen remodel in 5-6 weeks) when it took 4 months. Unprofessionalism is an understatement. He communicates through texting like a teenager and screams at the client when in fact errors are his fault or his sub-contractors. We provided appliance specs very early in the process and the electrician still made errors for which Ziv wanted us to pay for. The cabinets delivered were incomplete which he blamed on us. He demanded a final payment and threatened to put a lean on our house when the work was incomplete per the contract. Then Subs starting calling demanding payment which was resolved after we provided cashed checks to Sonart Construction. Don’t believe what I say. Read the BBB review complaints for a well-deserved F rating.

I signed a contract with Sonart Construction to build a pergola and add a room addition to my home in November of 2021. They did not get a building permit for the pergola and the HOA shut them down before it was completed. They didn't even attempt to get a building permit for the room addition until January 2022 - 60 days after the contract was signed! Then there have been multiple problems with the permit and every time what they SAY is needed isn't what is ACTUALLY needed and it is an expense that I have to pay for, not the company! For example, I was told that a new survey was needed, which I got and paid for. Turns out that what was needed was a site plan. I was told that I needed a soil test, and in trying to get the soil test, I find out that a compaction test was needed. And I can only get the compaction test AFTER the fill for the addition has been laid. This is not good business, by anyone's standards. Plus, they still have not applied for the permit for the pergola. They are hoping to slip the pergola into the permit for the room addition with the County of Collier being none the wiser, because they do not want to start the pergola all over again as would be required if they got a permit for it. A permit which would be an additional expense to me, not them!
