We have used Safari Tree Professionals for several years. We have never had a problem until this year. Our tree is cut each year symmetrically prior to hurricane season, thinned out to allow wind thru. Picture 1 shows the way it has been cut in prior years, pictures 2-4 show this years cut. Not only is it not symmetrical it is totally misshapen with one section ( look closely at 4) is completely hacked. We asked the owner Seth Macdonald who was not present during the service to come to the site and he refused. He states that he spoke to his worker Jonathan who stated that if he cut more it would be a violation. We simply wanted the tree cut back to the exact cuts from last year no more, no less. Our advice, find a different tree company.

This is the second time I have used Safari. I am very happy with the quality of the work. They trimmed multiple palm trees and this huge mango tree, They were finished in about two hours, cleaned up all the debris. I cannot say enough how great this company is. Will hire again.

All and all good. Seth MacDonald is a pro. He knows his business and is passionate about trees! He educated me about many things concerning the trees on our property. During the tree trimming by accident a branch fell on our neighbor's roof and cracked a couple of tiles. Safari made sure a roofer came out right away, and they paid for all the repairs. I was also concerned about the condition of our two new foxtail palms, but Seth assured me that they had just had some windburn and the new foliage would appear in a month or two. It's starting to grow now and I am hopeful that they will look fantastic very soon.

Seth, the owner, is the most educated arborists I have ever met. He won't rush you when accessing the needs of each plant. The workers are knowledgeable, prompt, courteous, and do an excellent job.

Seth is passionate and extremely knowledgeable about what he does. His office was very efficient with scheduling my estimate and eventually having the work done. Moving into a new house with 25+ australian pines in the back yard, half dying, half falling, brush overgrown and small trees everywhere was very overwhelming. Where do we start? We decided off a recommendation to call Safari, they don't advertise much because as many of the best companies often do, they work off referrals because I cant imagine any of their customers were left unhappy. Rather than trying to earn a paycheck and chop everything down as my wife wanted to, Seth explained to us which tree's were dying, which were crowded, which were sick, which would fall in hurricane etc. Why the canopy was important and decrowding the area would allow the remaining trees to thrive. We chose 12 out of the 25 or so to remove, these were large tree's smaller ones 40 feet, larger ones probably 75+. He explained the cost and the machinery they used. He furthermore didn't try to force me to give up my first born all at once and we created a future plan. Start with the the australian pines, and the palm tree which was protruding my septic as those were urgent. The other stuff could wait and we could always do in the future if after living there for some time we still wanted. I thought this was honorable that he was looking out for us and not trying to upsell everything. He provided us with future estimates for all the remaining work (seperate so I can choose what to do and when to do it) and even noticed the neighbors tree's were not safe, which now the neighbors plan to remove and potentially save my or their house in a big storm....to shorten this review up, crew lead Johnny and his crew came out and worked their butts off on these tree's, answered all my questions, and even cut me some stumps for fireplace seating and some fire wood (they even stacked it.) They cleaned up (as best they could) and left me satisfied, they even cut a few branches here and there that I asked during the process. I will be hiring them again soon, and would recommend with confidence. Great company and owner.

After I wrote my scathing review of Safari, I looked out my front door and found someone cutting up the tree and removing it.  I told him that I was not going to pay a dime after I had canceled the job.  He told me that it was no problem, and he continued to remove the tree.
The unresponsiveness was unacceptable, but they did follow through with the commitment.
After all, would I recommend them?  Yes.
I just received a call from Safari, to apologize for the communication problem.  I take back everything I said about them in my last review.

I saw Safari working at a house down the street, so I walked down to talk to them about removing a large, diseased ,Fox Tail palm in my back yard.  They suggested that I call the office because they do not like working with Fox Tail's because of the resin.  I called the office; they asked if I could send pictures of the tree, which I did.  The next day, I received a quote describing everything that they would do including the stump grinding, along with the price, and a contract.
The crew of five guys showed up on time, removed the decorative stones from around the tree, cut down the tree, ground the stump, carted everything away, racked the yard, and replaced the stones; all of this while it was raining.  Total time from the time they arrived until they left was 25 minutes.
This business if very professional....

I have used Safari Tree Professionals several times over the last eight years.  Once the office has been contacted, a date will be  established when a representative will come to the property. This expert on all things trees, will walk it with you while listening to what you would like done to the trees (perhaps even offering some suggestions). Within a day or two you will receive a written estimate. Once you have returned the signed contract, Safari will give you a start up date.  Each time I have used this company they have arrived on time, or at least during the window they have stated.  When their crew arrives, there are usually several people working on different tasks so that the work is done quickly and professionally (whiie listening to your requests). Clean up has always been fantastic with tree grinding, raking, sweeping and blowing all seeming to occur at one.  This company is dedicated to giving you the best service possible.  From the owner, to the receptionist, to the estimator, to the work crews, everyone is very friendly and dedicated to their individual tasks. They are all very knowledgeable about their service and that is why they can be called Safari Tree Professionals.

They were punctual, polite, and respectful. They trimmed one tree a little more than I expected and I am embarrassed to say that I was upset. The crew apologized and explained to me that the tree was a fast growing tree and that the cut would last longer. I admit that I overreacted and think they made the right call. While they were finishing up the job, I walked outside for a second to inspect everything and my 2 year old locked me out of the house. These gentlemen were so kind to allow me to use their cell phone to call my husband. I've used this company in the past and I would recommend them to anyone.

Seth MacDonald is the owner who evaluated the job and e-mailed an estimate.
The crew was on time and worked carefully and quickly. Greg, who was the foreman, introduced himself and did the climbing and cutting using a chainsaw and saw reaching tool device along with Chris. There were approximately 5 men working to remove, collect and throw the branches into a mulching machine.
They cleaned up after the work was finished and anyone I spoke to was very polite.

Safari was the only company to give me a completed and professional written estimate and seemed to know exactly what they were talking about. Seth (the owner) went out to my property and reviewed the results with me on the phone with a few options and then followed up with a written estimate mentioning exactly what was to be done with each process itemized so I knew the cost of each and what decisions to make that were best for me and my finances. Seth or his office responded every time to my emails, phone calls or queries. Pricing was pretty much in line with other verbals I received. They may not have been the cheapest but they definately were not the most expensive, however they were one of the most knowledgable and the only estimate that was complete and the only one in the end that I felt comfortable that I knew what I was getting into.
I must say that prior to contracting with Safari, I probably called 10 to 15 supposed tree and quot;professionalsand quot; to get estimates over a period of two months. It was almost like pulling teeth with each of them. I told each of them exactly what I needed ....in black and white...(1) remove two dying palms and (2) replace with two new palms and (3) how much would it cost....simple you would think. Most other companies when they gave written estimate, it was only half an estimate...or never in writing .....and thats only if and when they ever call back or follow up.

As soon as I signed on the dotted line with Safari, an installation date was set for the following week. Four individuals showed up promptly in the AM with all sorts of big trucks. Each and every one of them were extremely professional, polite, courteous, careful and proficient. They were the hardest working crew I have ever seen. It took them pretty much all day, practically non-stop and cleaned up after themselves. Seth stopped by to check on the progress and his crew and if I had any questions or concerns.
Everything was PERFECT from start to finish!.......It is what one hopes for paying for services but seldom gets.

I will use them again since I am very happy with them. They charged me about $900 for the last service. I have used them at least four times now. They have always shown up and done a professional job. When I first used them, I checked their price against other estimates. They have been very fair. They have held to the same price year after year. I have confidence in them and they work with me.
