This is not the case with the electrician hired to complete an upgrade on the house.
The work provided by the owner of Rigg's Electric, Paul Riggenbach, and the people he brought to assist him was bad from the start.
Mr. Riggenbach did not seem confident at all when upgrading our electrical panel. He and his assistant took approximately an hour to set up and get started.
They put the new electrical panel on upside down and did not realize this until 12 hours later when attempting to put the door on the panel.
The wiring to the panel from the outside was the incorrect size.
The new lines for our refrigerators were 15 amp when they are clearly marked on the plans to be 20.
The new boxes for our outdoor lights were not installed evenly.
And on and on.
Luckily we were able to find another company that was willing and able to correct and complete the work.
But, our biggest problem with Mr. Riggenbach is his refusal to return the money he was paid in advance for work he did not complete.
Our contractor was out sick for two weeks, so the timeline to start was pushed back. Mr. Riggenbach was not happy with this. It caused some turmoil in his scheduling, so he requested more money up front. Our contractor was hesitant, but paid in advance. He was not paid the entire $9000, but over 2/3 of this.
He was paid for approximately 40 hours of work, and was unable to complete this in 8 weeks.
Mr. Riggenbach brought in uninsured students the first day. He was asked to show insurance papers for any workers he brought from then on. No students were ever brought back.
Mr. Riggenbach did unnecessary work that was not on the original plans and charged extra for this.
Mr. Riggenbach went on vacation after delaying the work for 4 weeks. He would say he was coming to do work and never show up. He would not call to say he wasn't going to be here. He just would not show up. He was supposed to return to complete the work after his vacation, but quit the job 2 days before he was scheduled to be at our home.
His excuse for not completing the work was that there was other electrical work being preformed. This is not correct and he never returned to the house to verify this.
I want people to know that this man is unreliable and untrustworthy.
