Oriental Rug Care Inc. in South Florida is a rug cleaning and restoration firm operating a state of the art cleaning plant, conveniently located near Oakland Park Boulevard and Dixie Highway in Ft Lauderdale. We specialize in hand made textiles. We have over 27 years of cleaning experience. For thousands of years, hand woven floor coverings have offered beauty, comfort and legacy to generations of collectors. Like an old friend, each treasured piece serves as a family retainer, style consultant and art historian. To care for these treasured pieces, you need more than a carpet cleaner. This was not a good experience. They picked up my $957.71 living room rug for cleaning. When they brought it back to my house it was ruined. The rug was a natural white with a variety of pilling's. The rug came back yellow and the pilling's were destroyed. I asked them to take it back and fix it. I then called the company and spoke to someone who yelled at me on the phone. He told me it was not his problem. I then visited the place where they cleaned it and met the mean guy that I spoke with. Luckily there was a very nice guy there who pulled me aside and said not to worry they would make it right. The only thing they did was re-clean it over and over again.
I provided them with pictures and receipts but was told the rug looks like the picture and it was not their problem. I was so upset. I decorated my house around my beach inspired rug. Now I have a ruined rug that I can not replace. My house and furniture for my living room is white. They gave me back a yellow rug.
I contacted the company by e-mail and phone several times. each time I was told they would clean it again and return it to me. I am so un-happy. The reason I picked this company was because I thought it was and quot;Pride Carpet Cleaningand quot;. Pride has a great reputation around Fort Lauderdale. The add in the neighborhood direct advertise and quot;Prideand quot; not Oriental rug care. The advertisement was mis-leading and the company did not stand by its work.

I can assure you that our goal is to provide every customer with complete satisfaction and not to make you ever feel as if you are not dealing with the company we say we are. Pride Carpet Cleaning and Oriental Rug Care are owned by the same owner, same location and same process and policies apply. In any case, you may search sunbiz.org and you will see that ORC and Pride are the same company. We have been in business for over 28 years and just to be fair, every single rug that comes into our 5,000 sq. foot plant is re-measured and photographed so that the customers can see how well their carpets looked before the hand wash or in your case, to show you how your rug color did not change to yellow. I send you the photos of the rug before the wash and it took you several months to get back in touch with us and we still washed the rug again over and over for you so that it would smell fresh, look vibrant and feel soft being that you didn't come in for months. Before your husband came in to pick up the rug, he signed our contracted receipt stating that he gave us his signature of satisfaction and approval. When you and I spoke on the phone, you mentioned that you purchased the rug at Crate and Barrel. I am not sure who you say you spoke to when you called because I am the only person that answers phones all day and even when our office is closed, the phones are transferred to me. I can assure you that I am not calling you a liar but perhaps you do not remember what the rug looked like when we picked it up and because you let so much time go by, you may have forgot what your rugs original color was and so you expected something different. We have a very good reputation and word of mouth has been one of the main reasons that we have been in business for so long. I wish you well and if you would like me to send you the pictures of the rug when it came in again, I would be happy to do so. We have been in business since 1986 and the technician that went to your condo was under the impression that you were satisfied with the job, being that you signed off on the work order contract which clearly states, "I hereby acknowledge the satisfactory completion/delivery of above described work, at times a spot will appear to be even more visible after a general cleaning of the material. The nature of some spots makes it impossible to restore original color or texture. REMOVAL OF SPOTS IS NOT GUARANTEED" I also remember you calling back to say that there was a small spot that were not able to remove. Being that we value our customers and their word of mouth referrals, I asked our technician to call you back to see what he could do to make you happy. At that time, you were leaving out of State and you said that you would follow up with us once you were back in Florida. We still have never heard back from you other than from this review. We are sorry that you did not fully read your contract. We are always happy to follow up with our customers concerns. Again, I want to reassure you that we do not subcontract out our jobs. "Dear Customer, I am sorry to hear about your experience with your rug cleaning. We have been in business for 27 years and this is one of the stories that never happens in our facility. After I read your complaint, I immediately looked for an invoice and searched for you in our data base. I was unable to find you. Our records go back to as far as 1996. If this happened to you over 8 months ago, you should have contacted the company that same day. I see that your complaint was filed just 5 days ago. If you would have used our company, we would have gladly offered to pay for your shipping being that you were afraid of losing your rug if you moved. If we ever encounter a problem in where a rug does not pass our quality control department, that certain rug is not leaving our plant unless we are 100% sure that the rug is clean, looks vibrant and smells fresh. That’s just one more reason that it must pass our quality control department. We take pride in customer service and so I can assure that if it was our company, we would have properly handled your situation correctly. There are a lot of rug cleaners out there claiming to clean rugs by hand. Truth is, they don’t! Most of them out there bring them to us and charge the customers more. There have even been instances where some of these rug dealers used our name and tried to get away with the work.
