When our washing machine started walking during the spin cycle and tried to kill the dryer by pushing it off the ledge (they had been fighting), it injured itself in the process. The tub got stuck. So we called Masco. They were able to send someone out the next day to look at it and work with my schedule of when I leave the house to get my kids from school. Unlike another company I won't mention ** cough** Home Depot ** cough**. Mr. William was prompt and got right to work. He was able to get the tub unstuck and fix the fabric softener dispenser. Then he went the extra mile and did another once over of the entire unit. That is when he noticed "the crack". A small crack at the very top of the tub. Said it should not be a problem, but stayed while I ran a load just to make sure. And of course we had a puddle. We needed a new tub. He said he would personally call me the next day with pricing. He kept true to his word. And I gave the go ahead to order the part which they were not sure how long it would take. By the next Monday I called the office to get an ETA on the part. Was told the 5/21. Ok. We can stick it out another week. Well two days later 5 days ahead of schedule I get a call that the part has arrived!! PRAISE JESUS!!! Two days later my dogs let me know that Mr. William is at my door ready to put our laundry woes to rest. Thank you Masco!!

My appointment was for 8am-12pm window.  My wife had to take off work to meet the tech and just as every service tech in south florida, they were late.  I got a call around 12pm and was told that my new service window was 1-3pm.  3:10 pm came and I called the company and I was told that, "he's in the area."  The tech did arrive a few minutes later.
WITH that behind me, the tech arrived and got right to work.  He quickly diagnosed the problem as a switch that was cheap and fast to replace. He had the parts on hand and was done in no time flat.  The price was reasonable, I just wish south Florida contractor could be a little more punctual.  Add my wife's lost day of work to the above price and it was pretty expensive.

In the end we decided to replace the refrigerator since it was 13 yrs old.  So basically just paid for the service call to check it out. The service man was very honest in saying that typically he would recommend getting a new refrigerator when the motor goes bad and it is so old, but being that ours was otherwise in such good condition, a new motor might be considered as well.  But he definitely did not pressure me at all into a new motor.  I felt he was very trustworthy.

I have two appliance issues that needed attention.  My Bosch dryer was displaying a F:03 error code and the ice dispenser on the door of my KitchenAid  refrigerator was not dispensing ice.  Both appliances had been repaired/looked at by MASCO Appliance in May 2012. . The $200 cost displayed above was for the visit in May 2012.  I phoned MASCO on Monday morning and although they could have come to my home the next day, my schedule did not permit that so, we agreed on an appointment for today.    I stayed home from the office in order to have my appliances repaired.  When Raphael,  the service technician from MASCO,  phoned this morning, he insisted that I needed to order a new door for my refrigerator which would cost at least $1,000.  Based on a previous conversation with his manager, Rick, I asked him if they could replace only the motor.  He assured me that this would not remedy the problem.  I insisted on speaking with Rick who promptly phoned me back.  Rick told me that they would order the motor for the ice dispenser.  When I asked about the dryer he said that since they already replaced a switch last year (I believe it was a switch), I probably needed a new pump or floater.  He said that  they were going to order the parts and it would take a few weeks to get them in.  He said that they would phone me when the parts arrived to set up another appointment. They provided me with this diagnosis even though they didn't come out and look at the appliances. Out of sheer frustration, I joined Angie's List.  Based upon the comments on Angie's List, I phoned another appliance repair company who came to my home today and fixed both problems in less than an hour.

Rick was professional and competent.  I would definitely call him again.  Fortunately, I don't need him for the fridge.  It is working perfectly.

The washer was repaired. However, there was a $78.00 service call fee charged, which I was more than happy to pay. I had already removed the back of the washer myself to see if I could find the leak before I called for service (just in case it was only a loose hose or something minor like that). I saw that the leak was a in a part that had to be replaced. The technician arrived promptly, inspected the leak and told me he would have to come back with the part another day- he would try his suppliers to see if it was local or had to be ordered. I asked him at that time if he would charge me another service call fee. He said "No, we charge that the first time just in case the customer does not want the work done." H called me the next day and said he found the part and could install it the next day. The part was $66.00, and it would be another hourly charge of $60.00 to install it. When I remined him that he said he would not charge me for another service call, his reply was, "This is not a service call, it is the houly rate for work." It sounded like double speak to me, just another way to charge me extra. If I had known that the original $78.00 service fee was not going to cover any of the work performed, I probably would have found someone else to do the work. Overall, the work was done properly, the technician was polite, and my washer now runs great. I just wish that the fees had been discussed up front before he came to do the orignal service call.
Response from Masco Appliance and Air Conditioning Inc
"We charge a service charge which is also called a trip fee which covers the intial diagnosis. The balance of the repair is for parts and the labor to install the parts. In the 40 yrs I've owned my company I have found this to be the fairest, most honest way to charge for repairs. Many companies play a scam of saying they dont charge service fee if work is done, only to double the parts and triple the labor. Our repairs average 20 % lower than the companies that use the "Blue" book approach. Knowledgable customers have found this to be true. We are factory authorized and have the manufacturers looking over our shoulders to make sure we treat our customers fairly."

When I called for service they had someone scheduled to come the next day. They said he'd call between 10 and 10:30 to confirm a window of time to come by the house: he called right on time, arrived in the window, and completed the work in the allotted time frame. After opening up the machine and reviewing the technical manual he pretty quickly came to the conclusion that the problem was the water flow meter/controller. He had the part on hand in his truck. After replacing the part he stuck around long enough into a wash cycle to make sure this was really going to resolve the problem. Overall the quality of service was very good and very professional - I'd call them again.

They were responsive on the phone and showed up on time. The work is fine. HOWEVER, they charge a $40 fee just to walk in the door and on top of that they charge a $30/hour fee for labor. So for them to repair the belt on my dryer( an $18 part), I paid $125. That's just too much. They would not even entertain the idea that the electrical panel on the stove could be fixed, rather than replaced, even though the info I printed for them from the internet said the problem was common in my Kenmore stove and an easy fix. Regardless, the stove now works, so that's good.

THEY CAME OUT TO MY HOUSE AT A REASONABLE TIME OF DAY. THE GENTLEMAN THAT WORKED ON THE FRIDGE WAS VERY FRIENDLY. THEY SHOWED UP ON TIME AND REPAIRED THE REFRIGERATOR VERY QUICKLY. THEY WERE A BIT OVERPRICED BUT I WAS GOING TO PAY THE FULL AMOUNT.

THEY WERE VERY GOOD ACTUALLY. I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE PROCESS, AND I DEFINITELY PLAN TO CALL THEM ANY TIME I HAVE AN APPLIANCE MALFUNCTION IN THE FUTURE.
