I would recommend them and call them again if I needed service. On a scale of 1-10, with a 10 being the highest, I would rate them a 10.
The ladies did an fair job cleaning, but, after the chandelier episode, as well as the fact that the privacy glaze on a set of sliding glass doors was scraped away by one of the cleaners, to the point that you can now see through it in several places, and that the tracks on the sliding shower doors were not cleaned, I won't be using this company again.
Additionally, it would have been very helpful if at least one of the 5 cleaning women that were there spoke English since I do not speak Spanish. I was told that the supervisor spoke English, however, if that is so, I cannot imagine why she looked at me like she didn't understand a word I said.
My Response to Provider Response:
The light most certainly WAS on when the woman proceeded to spray it with cleaner - I was there! As for the rest of your ramblings, I'm not even going to dignify them with a response.
"This is my first time I've found it necessary to respond to a review........What a shame that the cleaning company ALWAYS gets blamed for any breakage regardless of the age of the house or circumstances. This was a move-in cleaning - chandelier and wall switch over 40 years old. Firstly the light was not on while it was being cleaned (my girls have many years of experience and wouldn't want to get electricuted). Home-Maid is in business for just over 13 years and the employee in question started working for me in 2006 - she knows better. The cleaning solution was only sprayed on the crystal pieces not any part that comes in contact with electricity. It was definately the wall switch that probably had a loose wire (due to age) and we just happened to be the ones working with the light - it can"t be cleaned without movement ???? All my girls assured me that the customer was happy with the cleaning job and even expressed her thanks and satisfaction to my girls - eventhough they don't speak fluent English, they understand practically everything (especially all the cleaning related words). It surprises me that after a "walk thru" with my supervisor and the clients obvious satisfaction of the job, everything changed when the light switch didn't work - I didn't mention that the electrician did find the problem to be the wall switch - the client told me herself and I overheard the electrician while I was on the phone. This incident has made me very weary of "friendly" customers and old chandeliers. I am grateful for all the "A" ratings we have got over the time we"ve been with Angie's List so I'm not letting one disgruntled customer ruin that. Owner of Home-Maid."
We hired Home-Maid to do a complete cleaning which included cleaning the windows inside and out, sweeping and mopping floors, dusting ceiling fans, baseboards and mouldings, and of course regular cleaning of the living/dining/family rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen. The crew was on-time and courteous. Overall, the work performed was excellent and we intend to use Home-Maid regularly.
They did generally clean well, but missed the baseboards, especially in the entrance and living room (I spent half an hour myself vacuuming the inside rows of my Silhouette blinds before they did the living room, because the blinds are delicate and I wanted a deep cleaning.) They did not attempt to clean any corners of ceilings, and a spider web or two was visible after they left. My husband works from home often, and during the initial interview, I had asked the owner to request the cleaners be careful about the noise level. Instead, they began shouting to each other over the noise of the vacuum cleaner. I had to ask them to please talk with the vacuum off. The cleaners were all respectful of my request and worked efficiently, but with the exception of a little extra time in the master bathroom and some time spent cleaning one set of French doors, I did not feel that the cleaning was a great deal deeper than the cleanings I've had with my other company.
Afterwards, I sent the owner, who had been out of town, a kind note, detailing what had worked and what had not, indicating that while I did not think the and quot;deepand quot; cleaning price was merited, we should talk and compare notes. Oddly, she replied by thanking me for the shot, and saying she was sorry it did not work out.
I'm not sure why she turned down the job, other than the fact that her business is based in Coral Springs and I live about 20-25 minutes away. I chose this business specifically because it had a good rating on Angie's List, but I think perhaps the owner should list the areas she is willing to travel to for new business, so that others from my area don't waste time checking Home Maid out, only to find that 1) they charge a hefty first cleaning fee, regardless of the condition of your home and 2) they are not easily available.
