We lost our entire cage to Ian. We signed a contract to replace it for $40,000. We have paid $30,000. The contract called for 20 x 20 screen. They installed 17 x 14 screen. The agreed the wrong screen was installed and said they will change it. I have repeatedly asked to talk to someone but can only email the secretaries. Dale is in charge of the install crews. Here is a breakdown of the emails: 3/1/23: We sent pictures showing 20x20 screen was not installed 3/5/23: We sent more pictures 3/7/23: We emailed asking if the pictures were received since we heard nothing 3/7/23: You answered yes pictures were received 3/10/23: We asked for the status of completing our screen 3/15/23: Approximate date that Dale visited to confirm screen was wrong 3/28/23: We asked the status of the screen since Dale visited a few weeks ago 3/28/23: "You said the install will start on approximately 4/1/23" 4/8/23: We asked what the schedule was now that the 4/1/23 week work did not happen 4/12/23: We asked again about the new schedule 4/12/23: "Dale will be there by 4/14/23" 4/18/23: We asked what the schedule now looks like since no work happened the previous week 4/18/23: "You said it will be installed this week" 4/21/23: Since this week did not happen, what is the new schedule? 4/21/23: "Hammond Products will be in touch with you Monday and plan on installing the screen Tuesday, 4/24/23". 4/26/23: I did not hear from you on Monday. It is Thursday and still no correct screen is installed.

Dale was responsive, creative, professional and fair. We had to change the plans a few times but because he fabricated the fence locally our insurance company deadline was met. The installers were meticulous and very professional. We would use this company again.

.My husband and I had a pool installed in our backyard in the Spring/Summer of 2012. In preparation for the pool we decided to have a gutter installed on the back of our home to prevent rainwater from washing over the roof into the pool. We were given the name of Dale Hammond by our pool company as someone they have worked with on previous pool installations. We called Dale without checking "Angie's List" which was a BIG MISTAKE. Dale came out to our home to give us an estimate on the gutter as well as a fence. The fence is not the issue at hand so I will not include that in this review. Dale came out and gave us an estimate of $275.00 for a seamless gutter. We agreed to have the gutter installed after the excavation of the pool was completed so as to lessen the potential for damage by the equipment  used to excavate the pool. The gutter was installed (can not remember the exact date.) My husband I were both at work at the time of the installation but when we came home we saw that the "seamless gutter"  had a seam. We were informed by neighbors that the gutter was installed by one individual therefore he could not put in the seamless gutter by himself. My husband and I decided that as long as the gutter did it's job we were ok with the gutter and would not complain. We when the rains came in June/July  we knew we had a problem. The gutter had a screw that was backing out and leaked pretty significantly onto the pool deck. I called Dale several times. I called him 3 weeks consecutively and was told by him on each of those calls that he "would come out today." August 28, 2012 was the 5th week I had called. Throught this time I had held the check for the gutter and fence, waiting for the gutter to be repaired! On Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 6:45 pm without any notice, a man came into our backyard (we just happened to be home) and stated he was there to fix our gutter. His repair consisted of using a caulking of some kind on the two seams. My husband discussed with this man his concern regarding the screw backing out but this man insisted that his repair would be all we would need. So, in good faith I then gave him the check I had written out on July 24th for the fence and gutter but had held waiting on the repair. As we had suspected, the repair did not hold up against the rains and the gutter began leaking again. The same man came out on Monday, September 17th and more caulking was applied and then white spray paint was used over the area. The dry season had then come. In January we learned that the gutter still leaked, and remains unsightly. I mailed a certified letter to Dale on January 11, 2013 asking to have the gutter replaced with the seamless gutter that we origianlly contracted for. We NEVER heard from Dale. The letter came back to me on April 17, 2013, UNCLAIMED! My husband and I drove to Hammond Screens/Roofing on 4675 SW 29th Terrace in Davie, FL on a Tuesday in March and my husband spoke to Dale on the phone when the receptionist called Dale's cell phone from Dale's office. Dale agreed to come out that Thursday to look at the gutter. Guess what? HE NEVER SHOWED UP NOR DID HE CALL! The following week on Tuesday, April 9,2013,  Rick called and came out to "fix the gutter." He was very pleasant. He took out the screw, removed the old caulking, put in rivets and recaulked with a wider strip of caulking. Is the "not seamless" gutter repaired? Who knows. As of today, May 7, 2013 we have not noticed a leak with the last weeks rain but only time will tell. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

It was a bit tough to get a call back from the estimator and schedule his visit, perhaps because it was Spring time and other people were also calling and demanding their attention. The English-speaking professionals that came here had good manners and the service was well executed. I guess the price was fair to a bit high, but I ended up not negotiating too much as I needed to complete the work soon. I'd do business with them again and recommend to other people as well.

The quality was good and the price was standard. They did things on time and I will use them again in the future.

It took almost a full year to get them to begin work on the project. Once started, the project went well and the workers were very pleasant and cleaned up after themsleves. Less than a year later some of the bolts used were rusting. The company said that they were covered under warranty . . . but I could not get them to come out and look at the situation until I complained to the BBB. They came out and looked at what needed fixing, but that has been several weeks ago, and they still have not come back to remedy the problem. During installation they were supposed to install a channel on which to hang two paddle fans. They didn't, and had to jerry rig a hanger after the fact. They are very nice, very pleasant, but very unresponsive.

It took almost two years of nagging to finally get workers out to do the work. This was caused by the fact that virtually every screened pool enclosure in three counties were destroyed by the hurricane. While working on the framework at one point the worker dropped his electrical extension cord in the pool, blowing several circuit breakers and frying one outlet. Workers had to be called back to: 1) Paint the unpainted heads of several mounting bolts, 2) Paint marred and discolored structural members, 3) Repair the blown electrical outlet, 4)Repair a broken stanchion from the pool-surrounding baby fence, and 5) Install the paid-for fan bar. This sounds bad, and they did not respond to telephone calls or faxes, but every time I sent a letter, a worker was out within a few days. And, ultimately, it is a beautiful job. It was just painful getting it done.

I THOUGHT THIS COMPANY WAS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. THEY SAID THEY COULD HAVE THE WORK DONE IN THREE MONTHS AND IT TOOK THEM TEN. I WILL NEVER USE HAMMOND SCREENS AGAIN.

IT TOOK SEVEN MONTHS TO COMPLETE THE WORK. DELAY AFTER DELAY WAS POSTPONING THE COMPLETION OF THE JOB. THE QUALITY OF THE PATIO WAS ALSO POOR ON THE CONCRETE SLAB. THEY TRIED TO HURRY THE JOB TO COMPLETION.

THE HAMMOND SCREENS DID A GREAT JOB ON THE SCREEN REPLACEMENT. THE WORK WAS DONE PROFESSIONALLY AND IN A ONE DAY SERVICE. THE AREA LOOKS WONDERFUL AND THEY WERE AFFORDABLE.
