Formula Ink Tattoo

This was my first tattoo and told by friends rather large for a first tattoo.(debatable) but yes my first tattoo. So I did all my research on what to look for in a tattoo shop and a tattoo artist. A big plus for me was I had seen Holden's work on someone and also looked at his online portfolio. Holden was highly recommended as the tattoo artist to use at this shop. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to question why this person was recommending Holden at the Formula Ink Tattoo shop. Everything I was told about Holden was true. He is professional, takes pride in his work,very calm, will work with you on creating a tattoo design you will enjoy and has been doing tattoos for many years. My Tattoo took about 2-2.5 hours including a break. In the beginning Holden told me I could take as many breaks as I wanted. I was surprised that the one break was sufficient. I was very much at ease and comfortable. My Tattoo starts around my wrist, flows down my forearm and curls slightly around my elbow. Just on one side of my arm forearm and includes multiple colors. Family, friends and " strangers" compliment me on the detail the tattoo artist put into the tattoo, the colors and the design. I strictly followed the instructions on how to care for a new tattoo and surprised that as the tattoo healed the colors were more brilliant. One thing I read and remembered -- A new Tattoo is an open wound and needs to heal without being covered. Clean your hands often when applying goo and lotion. I used Tattoo Goo Anti Bactria soap and tattoo Goo gel for the healing process. After day 9 I added the Tattoo Goo after care lotion instead of only the tattoo goo gel. I am only writing this to let you know how my tattoo healed. Other people swear by other products. My feeling is what ever works best for you. I mention to Holden that I had read about and purchased the Tattoo Goo product. He was familiar with the product and recommended that I coat the healing tattoo lightly with the gel or lotion. What else can I say except I love my unique designed tattoo. Holden is very experienced, a gentle tattooer not heavy handed, and a tattoo artist I would recommend if you want a good quality tattoo and a nice tattoo experience.
