Home Inspection
He told me everything looks good but on the report he stated roof needs to be repair. He wanted to charge another fee to redo the inspection report that already paid him to do.

Home Inspection
DO NOT USE THEM. AS OTHERS HAVE SAID THEY RUSH AND THE INSPECTOR MISSED A HUGE PLUMBING ISSUE WITH A RECALLED PIPING SYSTEM. EVEN AFTER THE FACT THE INSPECTOR ADMITTED IN HIS PHOTO'S CLEAR AS DAY HE SAW THE BAD RE-CALLED PIPING AND NEVER WROTE IT IN THE REPORT. WE ARE SUING THE COMPANY FOR THE DAMAGES.

Home Inspection
The inspector was a nice guy, but didn't take very long to do his inspection or seem interested in explaining things to us about the house. The inspection report was very cut & paste, and not very specific? some of the things in the report we had to ask about because they did not even apply to our house, but were mistakenly left in the report.
We bought the house based on the inspection. The inspection estimated that one section of the roof had 8 years of useful life left and checked that it was in "good" condition. Two months later, we found out that it actually had major leaks and that the wrong materials were used on the roof. Four roofing contractors stated that they could not believe that the roof had passed inspection so recently.
I emailed the owner, since he promised satisfaction on Angie's List. He did not respond, so I stopped by unannounced and spoke with him about the issue. He called a roofer he knew. The roofer came out, but I have never gotten a return phone call or email from either that roofer or Mr. Detrick to discuss further.
Since then, we also ended up with another unfortunate surprise. The house, which was advertised as connected with the county sewer, is actually still using a septic tank. There was no mention of anything about this system in the report either.
Preventing major surprise expenses is exactly why a buyer hires an inspection company. Of course they won't catch everything, but a buyer should be able to have confidence that an inspection report will be thorough and accurate enough to catch the major things. If we had had an accurate report, we would have been able to ask the seller to fix the issues or adjust the sales price. Instead, we are left with almost $10,000 of unexpected expenses.
We have contacted the Better Business Bureau for help and will be pursuing legal recourse if the complaint is not adequately resolved. Save yourself the headache and expense? DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY if you want a good inspection.
