Floors with Distinction

Not good. We were introduced to Bruce by our GC at the time, and ended up working with Bruce directly midway through the project. We bought into the thinking that if we paid top dollar install prices we would get top quality workmanship. The floors were not flat so Bruce recommended Gypcrete to level them which cost $5000. However, Bruce was not satisfied and charged me additional money to for their float out the floor. Despite all of those, the wood flooring was not even required extensive caulking on the baseboard to make it appear even. Overall the wood flooring job was a "B." Bruce also did the tiling in the house, which was a disaster. Bruce's installers do not work for him directly. This is something I learned after the fact. Some of the work was done exceptionally well. Some of it was terrible. I attribute this to different people working on the job. When I asked Bruce to remedy the issues, some were addressed but some were not. Instead, he decided to walk off the job, leaving me with thousands of dollars of work to pay for and at this time I only owed him $1000. Also, during the project Bruce claimed he would do little things for "free" like sealing the Gypcrete, but mysteriously near the end of the project he would bill for it. In total, I paid FWD approximately $35,000 but I guess that wasn't enough to have him finish the job in a responsible and professional manner. If able I will post pictures of how the job was left. Overall, I would steer clear. There are better installers at more reasonable prices around.
