"We provided a full refund to the member and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Weeks in advance of the scheduled pick-up date, we diligently arranged for the transportation of her items by a reputable and responsible moving company. Unfortunately, our level of customer service did not meet the member's expectations. It was due in part to the fact that her sales representative was away from work caring for a sick relative and unable to respond to the member's inquiries. We should have done a better job of providing back-up in order to promptly respond to the member. We appreciate the member's feedback because it points out an area for improvement and will help us become a better company. We strive to exceed the customer's expectations and continually aim to give our clients the highest level of service possible. We stand behind our work and take pride in operating in the most ethical manner. Of the thousands of moves booked by First Call Movers, consumer complaints account for a very small number of the overall moves booked. "We provided a full refund to the member and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Weeks in advance of the scheduled pick-up date, we diligently arranged for the transportation of his items by a reputable and responsible moving company. Unfortunately, on the scheduled pick-up date (Thursday, August 30) we received a call from the moving company informing us that their truck broke down on the way to pick up the member's items. The moving company was not sure when the truck would be repaired but it would not be that day. The moving company also informed us that they would contact him to explain the delay in picking up his items. Later that day, we received a call from him informing us that he had spoken with the moving company. According to the member, the moving company told him they could have the truck ready for pick-up on Saturday, September 1. The member told the moving company he could wait until Saturday. On Tuesday, September 4, we received a call from the member informing us that the moving company did not arrive as scheduled on Saturday therefore he wanted to cancel the move. We apologized to him and issued a full refund of his deposit. We contacted the moving company who explained they were unable to repair the truck as planned because the repair facility was not open over the Labor Day holiday weekend. The moving company told us the truck was now ready to pick-up his items, at which point we told them he had already cancelled the move and made different arrangements. We again sincerely apologize to the member for the delays and for the moving company’s failure to contact him and/or us regarding their inability to have the truck repaired over the Labor Day holiday weekend. Had we known, we would have immediately contacted him to make him aware. We are pleased to know he was able to make alternative arrangements. We strive to exceed the customer's expectations and continually aim to give our clients the highest level of service possible. We stand behind our work and take pride in operating in the most ethical manner. Of the thousands of moves booked by First Call Movers, consumer complaints account for less than 1% of the overall moves booked. "First Call Movers provides the highest level of service and strives to exceed the customers expectations according to the information provided when the estimate is prepared. If the customer modifies that information then we work with the moving company to accommodate the customers needs. The Member modified her information to include a request for boxes and supplies, which we passed along to the moving company. We spoke with the moving company the day of pick-up to remind them to pick up moving boxes and supplies on the way to the Members if they did not already have those. We apologize for the delay by the moving company at pick-up, however the Member was specifically informed at the time of reservation that "we make no express or implied warranties or guarantees concerning pick-up time," and she did not request a guaranteed pick-up time. Regarding the damage the Member said was caused by the moving company, once we became aware of the problem we contacted both the moving company and the Member to help her submit a claim for reimbursement. We recently followed-up with the moving company who informed us they are taking care of the claim. We then called the Member to see if there was anything further we could do to help and she has not returned our call therefore we trust our actions have resolved the problem. First Call Movers stands behind its work and takes pride in operating in the most ethical manner."
