It went as bad it could go. I called Felix Fera Plumbing regarding clearing a clogged kitchen sink on May 9, '17. My kitchen sink drain was not cleared by their plumbing tech but I was billed for the services. The company's president, Anthony, would not return my calls to let him know that the drain line was still clogged and then had the nerve to have his office staff send me to collections and reported it to TransUnion. Felix Fera Plumbing just had to send someone back to my house to see that their plumbing tech did not clear the drain line as he declared it on their invoice. In fact, the invoice bill they sent me dated 5/15/17 for 'Total Due At This Time $225', titled 'Description of work done' stating, "Felix Fera Plumbing service to snake out kitchen line from roof as needed. Mobilized plumbing technician as arranged. Removed snake from main line, all clear." All lies! I have a 2 page play-by-play of all that happened if anyone would like to see it. Beware of this plumbing company and their non-professional ethics. I had to call another plumbing company who cleared my drain within 10 minutes of starting the job.

I was referred to Felix Fera Plumbing by my regular plumber whose insurance was not sufficient for a condominium. Unfortunately, my experience with Felix Fera Plumbing was what we all hope to avoid---being taken advantage of and ripped off.  Apparently, they have a minimum fee of $142.50 to show up.  I was okay with that.  The job was a 5 minute job, to change a cartridge in a shower faucet that was running constantly.  Since the shower had no internal shut off valves the building needed to shut down the line the unit was in.  The plumber showed up late, took 15 minutes in his truck, "to get his tools together", then proceeded to change out the cartridge and instructed the building maintenance to turn the water back on in the line.  There was still a small drip so the plumber says to turn the water back off so he can try to clean out the body/pipe where the cartridge is connected.  We had to wait for the water to be turned off and drain out again, and for the plumber to go to his truck again to get steel wool or sandpaper, whatever material, to clean inside the pipe where the cartridge attaches.  He then cleans out the pipe and we wait again for the water to be turned on and flowing to the unit to check the work.  Now it was fine.  The entire job should've been NO MORE THAN 15 MINUTES!!!  Now it was an hour and 15 minutes since I escorted him to his parking place. BUT, they charge by the hour...did not know this beforehand.  And since from the time the plumber arrived to now it was 15 minutes over an hour, they actually charge for an additional 30 MINUTES!!! Had the plumber done his job properly he would've brought 2 tools with him + the steel wool to clean out the pipe...which would not have taken 15 minutes at his truck to do, he would've cleaned out the body before installing the new cartridge and before instructing the water to be turned back on, and thewhole thing would've been done in 15-30 minutes max on a bad day.  When the plumber was preparing the bill and explaining the charges I told him that he should've cleaned the body before installing the new piece while the water was off for the first time.  He told me that if he didn't charge me for it, he would be charged for it.  I decided to try to go over it with Felix Fera, I have called his office and left messages for him 3 times over the course of 2.5 weeks, his office staff confirmed that they gave him the message, and he has not yet done me the courtesy of a returned phone call.  In my estimation, he supports and condones this type of abuse of consumers.  If you want to be ripped off, call this company and your wishes will be granted.  This company is a prime example of why no one trusts plumbing contractors.  I've never done an online review, but this time I felt especially compelled to do so.  The issue had already been identified by my regular plumber and I even provided the correct part for the change out.  This was a simple job and they really took advantage here.

Technician arrived on time, was very businesslike, and completed the job in a short amount of time. Friendly response from
dispatcher and technician. I would not hesitate to use them again. In fact, this is my second experience (also went well) with
Felix Fera.

They did a good job. I had a leak in the toilet and they had to replace some parts in the tank. They were very nice. I have used them for years. They need to lower their prices for people like me but not like Romney, et. al. I think they should calibrate their prices based upon the customer.

They were fine. They were prompt and showed up to give me an estimate when they said they would. The people there are really nice and knowledgeable. They came out and fixed the problem to my satisfaction. They had to bore through the concrete to complete the installation. I thought they were a little expensive.

They were trying to find the leak and had to break a few walls and the floor to get to it. They did not do a very good job and charged me a lot of money. They did not end up fixing the problem.
Response from Felix Fera Plumbing, Inc.

"Member; We are confused with your post. After reading this, we researched your invoice, we found that we were at your home on Nov.29, 2002. This was almost 10 years ago. We were called to clear out a stoppage. We arrived, ran a closet auger through bowl in the bath by kitchen, pulling out paper, which cleared the toilet stoppage. The invoice was Inv # 14526 and was for a total of $95.00. It was paid C.O.D. Your post states a $4,000.00 invoice and cutting many holes. Is it possible you used another plumber, before contacting us? It was a long time ago, and we want to be sure you are satisfied. We atttempted to contact you today, but could not locate your phone number. Please feel free to contact us if anything. (954) 929-7473. Thank you."

They are always very good. They are my plumber of choice and I have used them for years. They had come out previously to fix the same problem and did not charge me on this second trip.

The person came to the house. He cut two holes in the wall to find the leak. One hole was in the wrong place and he cut the second hole near a water stain on the wall. The leak ended up being in the slab so they could not immediately fix the problem. We did not use them to complete the repair.
Response from Felix Fera Plumbing, Inc.

"This job was actually done between Dec 2 & Dec 28, 2000. Over 11 years ago. Unfortunately, sometimes when attempting to locate a leak, Plumbers must search in more than one location. However, we did find the leak on the 2nd try (meaning 2 holes). According to our records we went out to this home a total of 4 times, two of them being on Christmas Eve, and we didn't even charge Overtime for the Holiday, and one of thoes trips we did at No Charge. The total of all 3 invoices were $685.00, so that shows we did complete the work. We located the leak on Christmas Eve and returned on Dec 28 to repair it. These invoices were paid in full in March of 2001."

I liked the fact that it wasn't a big company, that he really knew what he was doing and that he didn't rip us off. I really believed what he said and he didn't try to turn it into a bigger problem than it was.

The service was good. They do charge by the hour. We went about 10 minutes over the hour and they automatically charged for 2 hours plus the piece that they had to use. I thought it did up expensive. They did do a good job. They were licensed and insured. They did a good job. He did leave some stuff in his car sand he spent about 20 minutes go back and forth between his car to get the job done. That did make the difference in going over for the 10 minutes. I was not unsatisfied with the work, just would have preferred that it would have only been an hour. The job still ended up being cheaper than an estimate I received from another plumbing company.

Overall I was satisfied. The price was more than I thought it should be since the previous days work did not resolve the leak and, therefore was unnecessary. However, he explained they try to approach the situation with the least amount of damage in the event the solution was minor. I did get credit from previous days work applied to the final resolution. I have used them previously about a year ago and was very satisfied at that time.
