Well to continue with the nightmare. We hired another pool company to fix the leak, and he did not detect a leak. He detected a number of leaks in different places. He had to empty the pool again, drill holes in the spa to get to one of the leaks, then make holes in the pool itself to get to another leak and in the meantime he found that Exotic Pools never attached the spa to the pool. There was no metal structure connecting the pool and the spa therefore, according to the technician the spa could separate any time from the pool and end up in the grass. Now we know why Mitchell never called for a structural inspection. They never had a structure built. Not only did the new company find that but now he found that the deck addition was never attached properly to the existing deck so that could separate anytime also. So now after one & a half years, my pool is again without water, with holes all over. The Diamond bright has to be redone again after all these repairs. They also found that Exotic Pools built the extension over the entrance to my home s septic tank! And that they broke all the sprinkler lines and buried them under the deck also. How can this company be in business for so many years and get away with this type of work? The city inspector knew about this company s work. So answer me this, why is Shelby from Exotic Pools allowed to keep ripping people off like this? Of course they never came back and I cannot afford a lawyer to go after them, so now I m out of $30,000 plus this new repairs. Oh, I should say the redoing of Exotic Pools is going to cost me over $100,000 and I am not done, they still working out there and I am afraid to even ask every day what else they found that Exotic Pools did wrong.
Description of Work: I contracted Exotic Pools to add a spa to my existing pool and to add an extension to my existing deck. The original contract was for $26000. Every day the price went up, according to Mitchell, the office manager "OH that was not included", her favor words. This nightmare started last year in July 2007. They blame the permits for a long time. Finally they got started; the head of the workers hit my entrance column and my electric gate. I had to call the company that put my fence up recently to come to fix it. Than the same man, drove a bulldozer through my walkway in the back of my house, broke the pavers and still today cannot bring the area up to match the rest of the walkway. They broke the water pipes and I had to call my handy man after hours to fix it, of course I had to pay for that. They made a mess of my recently surfaced Diamond Bright and Mitchell said that was part of the construction so I had to pay them extra $2200 to do the Diamond Bright again. Then they would disappeared for days, when I called, Mitchell always had a laying excuse "Oh Shelby is sick"" but Shelby never came here to do any work, so why was that a problem? I don't know. The next time she was not at the office so an old man they have there answering the phone would say over and over when I called, Oh, Mitchell had to take her daughter to the doctor". One time I felt sorry for her but after 5 and 6 times, I needed some answers. When they were close to finishing, the pool started to leak. My water bill went up from $22.00 to $130 then to $145.00 because I had to fill the pool every day. After many calls, they sent a man to detect the leak, he said it was a small one so he" fixed it", he said. WE still have a leak! By now we still have to pass the rest of the inspections. One day I noticed the new pump is leaking also. I called. Of course I was called a liar. That never happened and of course never got fix. I had the pool service company fix it for me to which I had to pay $195.00. Then Exotic Pools really disappeared! I hired a lawyer to send them a letter, they never answered. So we called for the rest of the inspections so I could have a different company fix the massive leak. I could not touch the pool until I was sure they were gone for good. The lawyer's advice to us was to do what we need to do since they were not answering any of the letters. When the inspector came he said Exotic Pools never called for a structural inspection, so he was going to approve the rest with a note that was never inspected.
