Cousins USA is the worst moving company I have ever used, and I have moved a lot! The true test of customer service is how a company handles problems. They damaged furniture and forced us to use a process for claims that we found difficult. (It was not the process written into our contract.). Months later their resolution is to offer a fraction of our damages and in the form of a “credit”. There are other highly rated moving companies out there - Cousins USA isn’t one of them.

As a single woman facing the seemingly daunting task of moving I was NOT looking forward to this. Cousin s Moving and Storage was awesome. Clement came to my home and made it all seem simple. I had a few special requests that I thought were huge and he just said "no problem, We're here to make this easy" and they did. I needed them early so a few things could get to the curb for bulk trash pick up that day. I also had a large glass and marble thing that they made a custom crate for. They were in touch via email and phone before the big day and the 3 gentleman that came to my house for the actual move were great. Friendly, timely, professional and thorough. I am now in storage with them as I await the closing on my new home but feel confident I'm in good hands and the second 1/2 will go as smoothly as the first. I would highly recommend Cousin's Moving and Storage.

Worst decision I ever made to choose Cousins USA. I strongly suggest you read my post and do NOT use Cousins USA. In all total I paid Cousins USA $9,878.12 since October 2012 to keep my possessions safe and instead they took my money, ruined my mattress, expensive couches, dings and damages to dresser, books and many other possessions ruined. I had to throw away the majority of my possessions due to damage caused by Cousins. I stored my furniture with Cousins for a 3 year period from 2012 to 2015. When I asked them to take it out of storage and deliver it to me, I received the furniture with a great deal of mold damage. I was advised by ServPro a mold inspection company that the furniture could not be salvaged. I had to destroy about $8,000 worth of my property as a result of their carelessness. I contacted Cousins to receive restitution for the furniture I had to destroy and have received no restitution of any kind. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and I hope they will investigate this company and their storage facility since there must be mold on other long term customers stored household goods. I offered to settle with Cousins but Clem (owner or head manager) never has returned a single phone call or email in the entire 3 years after he got my business. When Cousins is trying to get your business they will be nice and return phone calls, but once they have your stuff or they damage it you will never get a call from Clem or Cousins staff. Clem told me I would get every 7th month free and I tried getting him to call me back over the 3 years and he never would. They are a dishonest company that has ruined my possessions while in storage. Really, how do does a storage and moving company manage to ruin all of my important hardback books? I have moved at least ten times in my life and this is the first bad rating for any moving company. Their parent company and long distance carrier Stevens Van Lines is just as bad.

"This complaint has been settled since July 15, 2016. In short, Mr. [Member Name Removed]was not able to provide evidence that his household goods suffered any loss and his claim was denied by us. He was not satisfied with the determination and was advised that we subscribe to an arbitration program through the American Moving and Storage Association AMSA, and recommended Mr. [Member Name Removed]partake of that program which he did. AMSA is an independent third party that hears the case and makes a determination. The arbitrator retains the sole discretion regarding whether to make an award and his decision is final and all parties agreed to this prior to entering arbitration. After hearing both sides of the case and reviewing all the evidence submitted, the arbitrator determined that Mr. [Member Name Removed]failed to meet his burden of proof and his claim was denied."

Cousins USA Moving and Storage made a very stressful time for us so much easier. From the very first meeting with the representative to give us a quote to the delivery of the furniture in our new home, every man was professional, pleasant and understanding of our needs as we moved. The packing and the delivery was without a problem and we credit the company for that. We interviewed 2 other moving companies as well as Cousins and all the quotes were about the same. Our final decision was made on reputation, word of mouth and that first meeting we had with the Cousin's rep. We would and did recommend them to friends also moving this year.

They made it easy, the crew was very polite and respectful. They were easy to reach, the office team was super good also, and convenient payment method. Because it was a long distance move, they pack the truck one day and deliver the other day; nothing was lost, damage or stolen. I definitely recommend their services; their rate is very good and you get best services and quality. They also supply all boxes and wrapping paper, and they are very good at packing! Thank you! FR: Ils m'ont rendu la tâche facile! Les gars ont été très poli et respectueux. Ils sont également très facile a joindre, les gens du bureau était très sympa et facile de faire paiement. Puisque mon déménagement était longue distance, ils ont loadé le truck et livré le lendemain; rien n'a été perdu, endommagé ni volé. Je recommande définitivement leur service, ils ont d'excellent prix pour le service et la qualité du travail. I had the shipping container delivered to Cousin's: they brought it to me, unloaded it, brought it in and put everything exactly where I wanted it. They even opened boxes with things like a glass tabletop, positioned the tabletop for me, and took the boxes away. They were on time, quick, and efficient.

The move went seamlessly the movers were on time and worked over time and never complained one minute. The company was real proffesional from the manager to the person coming out and giving us a estimate to the movers. I would reccomend this company to any one they were great.

Showed up late, arrived with less guys than promised, treated us with disrespect, damaged our new house and our furniture, dragged things out so they could charge for more hours, rude, criminal (when I refused to pay more than we agreed to, the movers vandalized my property), overcharged my credit card and their home office refused to make things right.

"I do not deny that we had one less man than he reserved, however, he does not mention that we immediately dropped the hourly rate. He was NEVER overcharged. I had numerous conversations with this shipper, and at no time did he report anything missing, including throughout the claims process, where he was instructed to report all items either lost or damaged. Referring to the movers actions as criminal is a serious allegation and there are zero facts to support it; and I would urge anyone with allegations of criminal activity to report this to the police. We have looked into this allegation and found nothing to substantiate his accusation. He had several items that became scratched during the move, and we coordinated for a professional furniture repair company to repair everything at no cost to him. The work was completed to his satisfaction. We hold an A+ rating with the BBB, and we strive to make all moves excellent. If something appears to be wrong, we make it our mission to go out of our way to make things right."

It was very expensive. But, the people that I met in Florida and here in Oregon that assisted, were very nice and very professional. It was from Boynton Beach, Florida to Douglas County, Oregon. They did everything they said they would do and more. One of the reasons it was so much was, it's the entire way across the country from the Atlantic to the Pacific. It's very far. My understanding is that not a lot of people move up to where I am. It's well over 3000 miles. They had the same driver the entire way. It was his own truck and he works solely for Cousins. The fellow that came to the house to give the estimate was someone else. I told him not to exceed estimate. I didn't want any surprises. They stayed with that. I did pay for some extra help to finish the packing. That wasn't anticipated. I was told that - and I found this interesting - it's a family operation. They're faith based. I think they're a Christian family. They don't allow any of their workers to work on Sundays. When the fellow came out to give the estimate he told me a lot of information that I don't think I would have known otherwise. The only thing that wasn't as I expected was, I expected the delivery I think on the 9th and they got here like four days early and I wasn't prepared because I wanted to have someone come in and clean the house first. But overall, I was impressed with the individuals that I was in touch with for various tasks. There were a couple of things that were damaged in the move. They're just minor things for me to file a claim or anything. They did very well on the packing because I didn't get it all done on time. They spent several hours helping me finish packing. I very much liked their driver. They were very responsive. They showed up at 8 am on the morning they said they would. There were three men - the driver and two others. On the trip, he estimated April 9th. But it must have been three or four days sooner than that when he arrived. They weren't late. They were early. Through and through, it didn't matter if it was the estimator or others in his office or the lady in billing - whoever I spoke with was very professional.

Lost numerous items, broke the bed after put together and had to sleep on the floor for 10days!

We are senior citizens and they said we had to follow the process. The furniture restoration company can not come until

May 29. Finally on May 27, the furniture company sent a temporary frame.

Belongings were held on truck for four days (which we paid for) so we don't know how so many expensive wall hangings are missing

These hangings were packed by Cousins!

We have moved many times and never encountered such a disastrous move with no satisfaction as to lost articles. Their lack of concern for senior citizens with health issues sleeping on the floor for 10 days is just not acceptable.

"1. [Member Name Removed] submitted a claim for items she alleges to have been lost and we are in the process of processing her claim now in full accordance with the laws of the State of Florida. As of this writing, she was advised that her signature must be notarized on the forms and are awaiting her compliance. Additionally, she has not indicated whether she has unpacked all the cartons yet – so she may have in her possession the items she claims to have been lost. 2. [Member Name Removed] contacted my office on 5/18 to report that her bed was “too high”. I advised her that I would get someone out to her residence to see what could be done. The next day, she advised that the bed fell. We were able to locate a bed frame that would accommodate her mattress and box spring, and delivered it to her and set it up so they could sleep at night. We also coordinated with a furniture repair expert to go to her residence to facilitate the repair of her bed frame. As of this writing, the firm has been given the go ahead to commence with the repairs at no cost to [Member Name Removed]. Be advised that it still has not been determined who is at fault; but we sympathized with her situation and are working with her to make things right. [Member Name Removed] has been copied on all correspondence and is aware of the status. 3. I disagree with her statement that we packed all “hangings”, as the estimate clearly states that [Member Name Removed] waives the packing of her large pictures, fixtures, mirrors and glass top tables. And she correctly and completely executed a Release form on the date of the move stating so. In fact, we packed a total of 25 cartons/crates for her and she packed a total of 84 cartons herself – which her complain neglected to mention. In closing, we are still in the process of reviewing her claim. We have authorized the repair of her bed; and are doing everything we can to accommodate her."

It was total disaster. I hired them in May 2013 to move me from FL to NY. They said they would be arriving with the moved items in NY no later than the 14th of June and came on July 3rd, almost a month late! Nothing was wrapped as they said it would be. As a result, my clothes and furniture smelt like mildew when I received them. They also told me I could call to followup and when I did, they didn't even know where my furniture was and they didn't respond back. I also had friends visiting and they knew I did not have my furniture when I was supposed to, so they planned on coming later in the month from June 27-July 1, and I still didn't even have my items until two days later! I would not recommend them at all.

They miscalculated how many men were necessary. They were late in packing stuff and had to leave things behind. Broke one pot and scratched a speaker cover.
They were so late leaving and made a hash of things that it was too late to drop off at destination. We had no beds to sleep until delivery day three days later and had to spend over $500 staying in a hotel.
Spoke to Cleman about it and after three months, paid for the scratched speaker cover.
