My wife and I bought a lot on which to build our retirement dream house. I interviewed several contractors and Juan Carlos Herrera, Contempo's owner, stood out with regard to being ready for our interview, showing us that he could do the job right, and also with his enthusiasm for taking on the job. I had some very specific requirements with regard to storm resistance and energy efficiency, and Juan Carlos, who also has a degree in architecture, worked with the architect and engineer of record to be sure that our requirements were met. Juan has experience with both standard CBS block and Insulated Concrete Foam methods of construction. We chose ICF construction.
Building an entire house is a very complicated process. I found myself grateful throughout that process that Juan Carlos knows what he is doing. His attention to details, both large and small, was comforting. He also was very responsive to my frequent emails and phone calls with questions about details and processes. He never showed impatience with my fussiness.
Juan Carlos's philosophy about building a house is that something should be happening every day. As a result, the time from ground-breaking to CO was only 7 months. Contempo didn't promise this up-front because of uncontrollable variables with regard to both materials and labor, but Juan worked closely with his subcontractors to keep the job moving forward.
I can recommend Juan Carlos Herrera and Contempo Construction without reservation.
