I hired Lowe's to do a re-model of my master bathroom and work began in December 2014. It was supposed to take 6 to 8 weeks to completion.
First problem that happened is the project manager Jeff Trapanes mis-measured the outside bathroom wall where GFI outlets were going to be installed. Francisco Colet had originally taken the measurements when the job was being priced out. When the GFI outlet was installed on that wall it was off center by several inches and looked horrible so the electrician was brought back to move the outlets. He gave me a little bonus: he drilled right through the outside bathroom wall and left a hole clear through to the outside. When the holes were filled in and the lights attached to the wall they were so off center, by as much as 2 inches, you could look at one and it was 2 inches from the side of the tower and the other one was 1/2 inch over the edge of the tower. Instead of correcting that, they ordered a 2 inch frame around the tower instead of the four inches it should have been because the small mold size let the lights sit above the tower, off center as it was.
Painting the walls had to be done several times and is still streaky and looks horrible. But Francisco Colet refuses to address this any more. He will not return my calls.
The worst thing they did was when they replaced the tile in the shower and they did the floor. It has been done by Colet four times and is still not right. There is a puddle 6 inches from the drain that takes 5 hours or more to completely drain and now after the last attempt to correct the tile, the edges of the tile are not lined up, sticking up against each other and if someone went in there and walked on those tiles they would rip the bottom of their feet on the tile. We agreed to have a different tile crew come in and fix as much as they felt was defective from 6 tiles all the way to a new shower floor if they deemed it necessary. When the work crew showed up it was good old incompetent Jeff Trapanese with another worker and one of the store Managers from Lowe's and I was advised they were not going to remove and re-seat any tiles. They were just going to sand the tiles down and re-grout them. This would have compromised the integrity of the tiles severely to the point that if you dropped a bar of soap on the floor in the right place it would probably break several tiles. When they told me that's all they would do, I threw them out of my house.
All I want is what Francisco Colet promised my wife and I before we gave them payment in full before the job started (Lowe's policy). Nothing more. Nothing less. And the condition of the shower floor is a hazard now if someone walks across it in bare feet.
Francisco Colet - be a man and correct this job before you start advertising yourself as a construction crew. You're not. You do what you can do until it's proven to you that it's not right and then you stop speaking with the customer and leave the job unfinished. Do the right thing and straighten this shower floor out and I would never want to hear your name mentioned again.
