This inspection company was hired by my insurance company to do an inspection at a property where I had all the windows and doors replaced to meet hurricane code. The permits were pulled and they all passed Miami-Dade county inspection for installation. This inspector (who is also the owner of this company) claimed that the doors were missing the proper information for him to consider them impact. He told me the doors needed a specific sticker to prove that they were approved and advised me to take a picture of the sticker on the door and send it to him. (I thought this was part of the inspection?) I also asked him to please ensure that he inform me of anything else he might need so that I could provide it all at once. He repeated that this is the only thing I needed. I then took the picture of the stickers as he asked and sent them to him.
Three weeks later, he calls to tell me that the stickers do not have the necessary information on them. He said I needed to provide him with the paperwork from the supplier. I went to the door company, FPG, which has been in business for over 40 years, and obtained the "necessary" approval papers, as requested by the inspector. I emailed the copies over and called right away to see if this was what they needed, as it has now been over one month since we have been trying to get this issue resolved. I spoke with the receptionist (also the owner, the inspector's wife) who told me that this was not the proper information either. I explained to her that this is what the inspector (her husband, Justin) asked me for. She said she'd have him call me. From the moment I answered the phone, this man was yelling at me saying that he was tired of this and that this wasn't his problem anymore. I asked him to lower his voice as I was not doing anything to merit the way he was acting towards me. I explained that all I needed to know was exactly what he needed to finalize the inspection. He then yelled that I was "a F*#%ING IDIOT" and that if I proceeded to tell him how to talk to me that he would hang up on me. At that point I just hung up. His wife called me back to try and smooth things over but he had already gone too far.
Please understand that I have several investment properties and have built a few homes from scratch. I also run a successful business where I understand that customer service is key. I have never encountered this level of unprofessionalism in my entire life. I have also never written a review like this in my life.... but this was waaaaay too much to go without reporting. Don't help people like this stay in business! There are many more deserving businesses out there.
