Buying impact windows was intimidating. John you made my presentation easy, even when it went against your own interest. I am so happy with my new hurricane protection, impact windows. You were right there is less noise; less hot rays penetrating the house and the new windows look great!"
started having trouble with the windows sliding up an down. John came
out and and did some adjustments & sprayed the balance bars and
later replaced a couple of balance bars over the years. However, for
over 6 months I have been trying to get them to repair the windows. I
finally got someone to come out before Christmas. He looked at the
windows and determined I needed 6 windows repaired and would have
someone call me to do the work. Since then I have called 3 times and
was told each time their repair team would be calling. No one called. I
have called another 3 or 4 times and left messages. No response. At
this time the windows are literally falling apart. Plastic parts are
falling out when I have tried to raise windows and not to mention the
balance bars are falling out of the windows which makes it impossible to
lock the windows once opened. It also makes it impossible for me to
open the windows to close my hurricane shutters .
I was not expecting they should do the repairs for free but, I was expecting they could at
least have their repair people contact me to do the work!
They did the work, it looks incredible, and then we failed the first inspection. Since then (approx January) I have not been able to get them back. My maintenance manager called them daily for weeks. Then I called myself and was promised it would be resolved. They went back out, took a look at what needed to be done, and PROMISED that it would be addressed. To date, I still have an open permit on my property that I cannot get them to close, and it's about to expire. I don't know what that will cost me to reinstate or how I'll be fined if and when it doesn't get closed. In addition, on the inspector's report, he stated specifically that the work was not completed, that critical pieces were missing for proper installation. In the event of a hurricane if those windows fail due to improper installation, my insurance WILL NOT cover me, and now I've just blown $10K for nothing.
In order to reach someone, I have to call and call and call (because messages NEVER get me the respect of a returned phone call after spending over $10K with them AND referring them to a friend for other business) and then when I spoke to someone 2 weeks ago, again I was PROMISED that it would be taken care of the following week. Nothing. No phone call. No scheduled inspection. Nothing.
One of my husband's favorite mottos as an athlete is "finish strong." It's very unfortunate that what started as a great experience has left me with absolute disdain for this company. I simply do not have the time, running 2 businesses, to chase after someone constantly to finish the work for which they were hired. What I have learned and what I highly recommend to anyone else doing work that requires permitting, to hold back the final payment until the permit is closed. I paid for my job the moment it was completed, and I'm paying dearly for that mistake now.
I waited and waited to submit this report on Angie's List, hoping and hoping that they would pull it together and live up to their A rating. I felt that months was long enough.
