Robert Clements promised us a high quality job but what we got was a shoddy and extremely poorworkmanship and a litigation nightmare. The contractor claimed that he is licensed to install exterior solid doors, but he is not. He has a Glazing G license. Broward Examining Board found him in violation of his license and fined him $$$$$ Plot: He installed 14 new windows and 5 exterior doors. Wrong and very cheap product was used to caulk the windows, he used interior caulk to seal the outside side of the windows. He widened the door opening without the proper permit, installed one of the doors without any headings and nailed straight to the cinder block, left a 3 inches gap from each side, and concealed work from the building inspector but was caught just in time. He burried my doors frames under ton of cement, didn't install the brick molding. He never passed the city inspection and refused to return to fix all the violations, deficencies and non-compliant issues, then within a week after "failing the inspection" he PUT A LIEN on my property. Keep in mind I paid him 75% of the contract and I was not going to pay him the balance if he didn't finish the project, didn't pass the inspection, deliver an extremely shoddy work, and destroyed my property. Til this day, he never finished the project and never passed the inspection and he keeps calling the code compliance department reporting that I am doing work with permit. The city officials don't believe him anymore and they just laugh at him everytime he calls. We are still in litigation, and this is getting very frustrating because no other contractor would take the job to fix his sloppy work and they all stated that during all their professional career, they never seen such a poorworkmanship or such a sloppy work and such he used very excessive amount of cements to cover up, they can't take over the work and get blamed for it.
