I'm calling-out Allpro Windows & Doors, Inc. on NW 53rd Street in Fort Lauderdale, FL. who installed my hurricane impact windows 11 years ago.
Without going into specific detail, suffice it to say that my personal experience with All Pro has been so ridiculously frustrating that I've contemplated a lawsuit more than once. Fortunately, I have better things to do with my life, so they lucked out and will just face this scathing review. I'm listing the basic facts below:
. There were giant gaps in the caulk;
. Caulk was missing on one entire side of a window (this flooded my condo during heavy rain, more than once before I discovered the source of the problem);
. They left holes/gaps in my tile and walls from the installation;
. They ordered the wrong balcony doors for my unit. (Confirmed by PGT Industries, the manufacturer of the windows)
. They installed the doors with parts missing.
. They installed the doors incorrectly.
. They did not honor and denied their 'Full 10 Year Warranty' even though it was handwritten on my receipt.
. They refused my phone calls for a year and a half with one exception when they promised to get back to me and never did.
After Tropical Storm Isaac, when my unit flooded again (I was ringing out towels for 12 hrs straight), I gave All Pro one last chance to make good on all of this and Jim Martin, the owner, promised he would get back to me within 3 days; he never contacted me.
As a last resort, I wrote PGT Industries, the manufacturer and they came out and repaired everything they could for me. They did confirm that the wrong doors had been installed but there was nothing they could do about that. PGT didn't have to honor what All Pro was supposed to but they did. PGT is the BEST: high integrity, replied to my inquiry within 3 days, kept their word, ran on-time, are thoughtful about your comfort while they're working and clean up after themselves AND best of all, they're 'MADE IN
AMERICA' and are 100% American owned. One thing that really impressed me is how well they worked together and Tim Musser, the Team Leader, double-checked everyone's work just to make sure nothing was overlooked.
Thanks PGT...it's refreshing, in this day and age, to find a company with such high integrity, I'm forever grateful to you.
It would have been nice if All Pro actually ordered the 'correct' windows and installed them properly in the first place BUT even if they did offer to do that now, based on my experience with them, I would never trust them to get this right; you just can't wish 'integrity' on someone that has none. I expect nothing from them; which is exactly what I've gotten.
My husband and I met with both James and Bruce on options to replace the sliding glass doors to our patio. We decided on french doors. The work was done in the 3 week timeframe noted. However, the one set of doors was not correct. James came out to review the work and made arrangements to replace that set and install handles noted on the original order. To be perfectly fair to this company, the two installers were a bit messy in that concrete dripped onto our hurricane shutter track and a fair amount of dust was in the house. James was nice and noted that these two installers no longer did work for them.
The replacement of the doors was done in the timeframe noted along with the missing handles. There was no mess.I would highly recommend this company despite the issues we encountered. We know you cannot always know who you hire but they were definitely responsive to the issues and resolved them.
The doors are fabulous!
