I bought a house in Deerfield Beach, FL in July of 2020, and a sewer scope completed at the time of the home inspection revealed that the cast iron pipes under the house were from the 1960’s and all needed to be replaced. I hired A1 Underground Plumbing in August 2020 to help me with this project, and they completed the project in less than a week, and after they left, it appeared that all toilets were flushing, the shower and the kitchen sink were draining, and the washing machine in the laundry room was functional. I paid them $20K for the job, and was very happy with the completed project……or so I thought. Fast forward to February 2020. We were in the yard and noticed an exposed cast-iron pipe that had lifted above the grass, and appeared to have water running through it. From what we could tell, the lawn company must have run over this pipe with a mower and broke a plastic fitting over the pipe, and this exposed the pipe for us to see the water flowing through it. The only source of this water had to be from the washing machine, because it was the only water running at the time. I immediately contacted A1 Underground Plumbing, and talked to Beau Fuller, and let him know that I thought a pipe got missed when they were replacing all of the pipes back in August. He agreed to come back to the house to take a look at it, but he advised me that he thought a pipe did not get missed and that there must be another explanation. I met Beau at my house on March 8th, and he took a look at the exposed pipe, and the washing machine drain hose, and came to the conclusion that the washing machine drain hose was not draining water into the new PVC pipes installed by A1 Underground Plumbing, but instead, was draining through another pipe that had NOT been replaced, and must have been installed by a previous owner of the home. I didn’t think this would be a problem to get fixed, so I started working with Beau to schedule a repair to get the washing machine hose draining into the proper PVC pipe that was installed by A1 Underground Plumbing. It was at this point that Beau informed me that the cost of this repair would be in the ballpark of $450. I replied to him that I just paid $20K for all of the plumbing pipes to be replaced and to be functional, and I wasn’t interested in paying additional money for repairs that should have been taken care of when all the pipes were replaced. This reply set off an exchange of text messages that completely changed my attitude towards A1 Underground Plumbing and Beau Fuller. He immediately took offense to my reply, and felt that I insulted him for suggesting that I wasn’t interested in paying more money to him. He advised me that there was no way for him to know about the pipe that was “illegally installed,” and that my house had a “rigged connection.” Without any consideration to resolve this problem, he completely justified his work and told me that the “scope of work” was completed, and that “everything I paid for is what I got.” What I know is that I paid $20K, and my expectation was to have all water exiting the house flowing to the sewer. They tested all the toilets, the shower drain, and the kitchen sink, and made sure that these drain lines were all functional and draining properly. Why not test the washing machine drain line?? Instead, Beau Fuller repeatedly told me that testing a washing machine drain hose is outside of his scope of work. He accused me of being a “bad person,” and that I was completely “unreasonable” for requesting him to help correct a problem that he caused. He indicated that I “should have known” my house was rigged. Insulting me, for what I would consider a reasonable request, is a great way to lose me as a customer and to write this review to share my experience. Best of luck to anyone who chooses to use A1 Underground Plumbing, but be prepared that you will NOT be helped if something goes wrong with your plumbing system in the future.

Once we explained there would be a cost to repair the drywall we were cursed at and threatened. We were told if we do not do the full repair, including drywall repair, for free Mr. [Member Name Removed] would put a terrible review about us online on every site possible. At this point we told him we did not feel comfortable doing the repair or being bullied. We are a family company that appreciates our customers and stand by our work. However, we won't allow our employees to be treated or spoken to in a disrespectful manner."

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! These guys are top notch. They trenched under my house, removed all my cast iron pipes, replaced them with pvc and even broke out my exterior wall to my kitchen to replace the pipe in the wall. All in 3 days!! We never lost water and the guys gave me updates every step of the way. They even put sod down on the area that they dug after everything was done. Five stars is an understatement. To be honest this is the best company I’ve ever done business with. Very punctual and professional.

We unfortunately had a serious pipe problem under our house. But fortunately we found a "CLASS" A1 Underground and Plumbing Co. thru a neighbor who had also hired them with excellent reports. This company came in the next week with equipment that was unbelievable. But mostly a crew of men that we cannot stop praising.These men worked under our house and removed and replaced all damaged pipes. All work that had to be done in the house, was done in a professional and absolutely CLEAN way..Cannot thank these men enough and A1 for having them work for their company. We give this company a "10" for the professional work that was done at our home. We highly recommend A1 Underground and Plumbing for their services to anyone and everyone.

Job was done, from first dig to new sod, in less than a week. Everything seems to be working well, warning about "loud" shower drain was appropriate and appreciated since an intact drain line is a bit noisier than a deteriorating one.

BAIT AND SWITCH - When we finally got the quote, we were stunned to see a price of $1,500 more than what Beau had quoted us. Instead of the total $21,000 which he had quoted us, there was a $25,000 figure (not previously discussed) , less a $2,500 "DISCOUNT". The new total had been ramped up to $22,500. I thought maybe they had sent someone else's quote to us in errror after the previous verbal quote of $21,000 from when Beau was at our home. We called and spoke to a woman who claimed not to know anything about Beau's original verbal and written quote on his business card. We asked her why Beau had taken his business card with the $21,000 quote but she could not answer this and said we would have to speak with Beau. She then advised that Beau was out on paternity leave until Monday of the following week. Another runaround. You would think that they would have reached out to him by phone for 5 minutes to verify the confusion but they could not be bothered. When Beau called us on Monday, he REFUSED TO HONOR HIS ORIGINAL VERBAL AND WRITTEN QUOTE but ridiculously tried to offer us a $100 discount off his higher $22,500 later quote. We asked him why he had written the lower quote on his business card for us but then left our home with it. He REFUSED to answer this. We refuse to do business with a company that puts potential customers through A BIG RUN AROUND and BAIT AND SWITCH TACTICS.

We sent an estimator to the location to meet her and take the necessary measurements. Our estimator commonly uses a business card to write the notes on however We do not provide quotes written on the back of a business card but once they return to the office a written estimate is prepared outlining everything that is included and not included in our proposals We then email the written proposal to the customer for their review. This customer was given two prices one for the $22,500 was for the harder job then the proposal states If we reroute the South bathroom to the outside of the house the price would be reduced by $1,200.00 which comes to $21,300.00. The customer contacted the office insisting that Beau told her the price would be $21,000.00 and that permit fees were included at which time she was informed that it seemed odd that Beau would of told her that permit fees were included since EVERY OTHER customer has paid the permit fees but that we would have Beau contact her. Beau was out of the office due to the birth of his daughter so when he returned on the following Monday he reached out to the customer explaining to her boyfriend that the harder job was $22,500 and the easier job was $21,300 at which time he insisted that we do the job for the $21,000.00 that they believe was written on a business card but could not provide this card, we informed them that we were not interested in doing any of the work for her. We never contracted any work with this customer due to her attitude so of course there is NO BAIT AND SWITCH just an upset person because we wouldn't do the work for the price she wanted. After being in business for over 15 years we have learned if someone is that rude before you sign any contracts they will never be happy with anything you do."

A1A did an amazing job replacing all the old cast iron pipes underneath our house. This is our first home and knew this job was a must need. Shopped around and A1A was the best price with the best reviews. A job like this, you do not want to go cheap. A1A was was in and out in less than a week and a half. They ripped up our tile drive way and put it back exactly how it was and added fresh sod in all the places they dug. We feel very confident that the job they did will last much longer than the cast iron pipes that were in place from 1971.

They responded quickly to our first inquiry and completely followed through each step of the way, responding to ANY inquiry within minutes. Our primary contact, Beau, explained each step of the job and each was performed as promised and on-time. The on-site crew led by their foreman, Tito, were prompt, polite and always had a smile on their faces despite the difficult job they were performing in the blazing FL sun. Communication and price were fine. All work was done professionally. Would use again.  I opted to re-sod the yard myself. Only complaint was that the ground was not leveled out. All the dirt dug up was just piled on top of where the pipe was laid. Had to relocate/spread out the dirt to even it out.
