Superior experience! After meeting with eight area HVAC contractors, owner Phil Mathews provided the most reasonable and fair quote for our new upstairs heat pump system. He listened attentively to our needs and recommend a high-quality, reliable system at significantly lower price than the other businesses proposed. The technician did an outstanding job in the installation: Joe’s attention to detail and craftsmanship in mounting the outside condenser and interior air handler was superb. We had our downstairs system replaced three years ago by another contractor (regrettably I did not have time to do my homework for that purchase). Technician Joe observed several installation flaws in that system and fixed them at no charge to me. My husband and I could not be more pleased with our choice of Mathews Heating and Air for our installation and will use Phil’s company from this point on for all our HVAC service needs. The company responded quickly (I called in the a.m. and they arrived around 4 p.m. the same day, a Friday) to look at my A/C, which was no longer starting up. After running thru all the tests to make sure the actual unit was in good shape, and *should* be working, they then were able to discover that there was a malfunction with the power going to the AC unit (our house apparently has a 3 phase power supply instead of the standard 2 phase and the line that powered the AC unit had shorted). This was an issue that only Gulf Power could repair. This whole process took a little over 2 hours, and the owner Phil Mathews happened to be in the area and stopped by as well to make sure everything was good. After Gulf Power fixed the power issue, Phil had somebody stop by on Sunday (2 days later) to tune up the unit. This was a small job, but they didn't treat it as such. I was very impressed with the time & effort they put into finding the problem, especially considering that all this was taking place on a Friday afternoon at the end of the day, when most guys will try to rush things so they can get home.

They were really good because I had a house full of kids. The guy came right out and worked on it. He had been working the whole day and I was very pleased with his work. I would use them again in the future if need be.

Excellent service. Technician went and got the part, came back and installed it. No hassles! Great communication. Checked the unit to ensure it was working correctly. Checked the air inside to insure it was cooling properly.
