CARTER & SON CONSTRUCTION

The sales rep Sam promised to have this done within a month before Easter, and said the job would take no more than a week. I signed a contract with Carter Construction on March 20th, and paid a 25% deposit. Since then: - The initial designer no showed 2 times, and after 2 weeks of working with her, I received a notice indicating that she quit. (Side note: She was only employed for 1 month.) - I then worked with another designer. After playing phone tag for a couple of weeks, I finally received a design. It took 6 weeks to get a design from the signing of the contract. - A month after that I finally was able to get a project manager scheduled to come to my house and plan the construction details and timeline. In that meeting we confirmed my bathroom remodel would take place the week of June 17th and be completed by Thursday, June 20th. Another 25% payment was collected. - June 17th, the demo took place and my bathroom was gutted. - June 17th I asked what time contractors would show up the next day, and got a response that no one was scheduled. - June 18th I asked what the timeline would be, and received no response. - June 19th I followed up again to ask when I could expect someone to show up, and got a response that they are still waiting on materials to be ordered. What?!? The materials should have been ordered when the final design was submitted and approved. Why am I still waiting? Why do I get no response? When I initially complained 1 month after signing a contract no one would connect me to a manager to explain the process to me, or to take my complaint. I would never hire these people again. Overall the company had poor communication, poor customer experience, rude employees, and could never articulate what the process would be, or confirm and stick with a timeline they committed to. Please do yourself a favor and find an alternate contractor. My initial bathroom job was to do a trial run with this company before having them do the remodeling for the rest of my house. They haven't earned my business for the remainder of my house and I'll be securing a different contractor.
