Nick was extremely helpful with our dive into the solar world. We bothered him previously while he was onsite for another house in our community and was patient with all of our questions and helping us better understand what would best suit us. He’s knowledge of the product and confidence in the company made our decision a no brainer. We are very happy customers!

As a roofing contractor we work closely with Stilwell Solar. They are always updating us with information and scheduling of the jobs we work together. I would not use any other solar pool heating company. I have personally used Stilwell for two of my personal homes. We love the "free" heat. Highly recommend Stilwell and Jeff Lambert the salesperson.

I rarely write reviews, and to be frank, a company needs to be very bad or extraordinary. In the case of Stillwell Solar, the word extraordinary is really not adequate. Bill Long, the owner, spent a few hours with me when we first met to explain the solar pool heater that he installs. In that this was going to be my THIRD install of a solar pool heater, the first two of which I found never to work, I was skeptical that any pool heater could actually work. Bill assured me that not only would it work, but it would be a product that was for the most part, free of problems and it would last for a very long time. When the install was complete, unfortunately for Stillwell Solar, my solar panels were on the east side of the home while the control panels were on the west side, meaning that they would have to run the full length of my roof to hook up the PVC that circulates to heat the pool. The could have just run a line on the roof that is unappealing, as do most solar pool heating companies do, but they took the time to follow the roof line, which required at least three or four hours at the very least to make certain that the black PVC was not noticeable. I could not believe that not only does the product work extremely well, but the equipment and PVC does not detract in any way from the home. If I could give them an 11 out of 10, I would. Don't waste your time looking for anyone else. These guys and gals have figured out how to make the magic work, and believe me, it does! If you need a solar pool heater, give them a call. I was 110% satisfied!

Stilwell Solar has been our choice since 2010. Always on time, right pricing, and very responsive to the very few repair needs that have occurred.

Job went great. We had a problem getting an expired permit renewed prior to Stilwell getting their permit. Scott worked with us on install dates and as soon as the permit was renewed he went down to the city and got the solar permit the same day. The team installed the solar panels in less than a day and did a very professional job. Very happy.

Most companies I called for repair did not even answer the phone. But when I called Stilwell to inspect the solar panels on my roof they took the call and promised to set up a date. They came back with a date and time and the technician came as promised and even did the inspection during rain. That is what I call "Service" and the other companies that never answered my call will be on my blacklist.

Professionalism starts at the top... and drips all the way down.  This well managed company reflects in all of their employees from the folks in the office...  estimators... and installers.  We scheduled a new pool solar system for 3/30/2016.  However, our new roof was installed earlier and they we able to bump us up earlier, given delays with other customers who were waiting for new roofs.
The amount quoted in our estimate was the amount we paid.  Rather than trying to sell us equipment or additional panels that were not required, they gave us a great and realistic quote that fit the specific needs of our pool.  We were pleasantly surprised with the quote, and even more pleasantly surprised by the fact that final installation was the same as the quote.
Our installer, James, was absolutely one of the nicest and most professional people that we've ever encountered.  He did a great job installing, cleaned up all the debris after installation, and spent quality time explaining all of the electronics, etc.  James was a hard worker and extremely pleasant to have on this job.  He spoke highly of his company and showed great pride in working for his company.  Again, professionalism starts at the top and drips down!!!
I would recommend this company in a heartbeat and thank Angie's List for providing the info necessary in making a wise and prudent decision.

Last May Stillwell Solar installed solar panels for our pool; everything was great, love the warm water and all is good. This week my pool kept losing prime and my pool guy could not figure it out so I called Stillwell and spoke with Bill Long. He said he would come over right away and see he could find the problem. Now you have to understand it had nothing to do with the solar system; but indeed he came over and within 30 minute figured it was a leak in the skimmer pipe. He stabilized the pool and was on his way - no charge for his time and service- pretty amazing!

They arrived on time to get a quote. They were very friendly, explained everything in detail, showed materials and answered every question. That was on May, 2015. 
We scheduled for August, 6th to get the new solar installed. Again, they arrived on time and removed the old solar and put the new one in. 
They removed all debris and dirt entirely and billed the amount they have quoted. 
The work was done in a very professional manner and we would definetly hire them again.

Professional handling from the date of the estimate until the day of the installation. They were also flexible with the date when the roof was not finished as planned. The installation looks much better than the old installation and the technician explained all the details for it. Outstanding customer service which I am missing from many other companies. Definitely worth for a recommendation.

First let me say, we had the system installed a year and a half ago and all went well and we were happy with the installation. Last Tuesday we discover water running down the roof from a PVC elbow which tied the system together. Of course there is a 12 year warranty which covers the parts and panels, however, when I called, I was informed their would be a 59 dollar service charge plus other possible additional charges. I am disappointed that the workmanship they provided was not warrantied. Would the joint have been glued properly when the installation was done, it would never have leaked. Somehow no matter what warranty is promised, there is always a charge when something goes wrong. I would have hoped that when they realized that a joint that they were responsible for and installed was not glued properly, they would have stood by their workmanship and fixed it free. In the end I paid the $92 dollars to get what should have worked in the first place. The tech that came out was polite and professional and made the repair quickly. But in the end I remain disappointed that they didn't stand by their product.

We used Stilwell to put solar panels in our house 2 years ago. We have moved into another new house. We called Stilwell to put solar panels up to heat our new pool. We were 100% pleased with our solar panels, Stilwell Solar and Bill the owner/salesman. We got the very same job and service as we got 2 years ago. I am a real baby about not getting in a cold pool. I love being able to have warm water and not have an electric bill to heat it. One of my neighbors has already used Stilwell to put in solar panels to heat their pool. I figure more will after they see their electric bill.

Professional and prompt from start to finish. They explained the advantages of their panel design, and during the installation they labelled the pipes so we now understand the flow through the system. Their guarantee includes both parts and labor, which gave them an edge. Price was not cheap, but not unreasonable and we got what we paid for.

We interviewed several companies. They all promised the moon but these guys seemed more sincere. My wife asked and quot;will you really do all you say or is this just sales talk?and quot; He assured us it was not so we signed the agreement. We were pleased with the professionalism of the installers and have had no problems since it was install two years ago.
We have had contact twice since then, once we had a small leak near the pump, they fixed it the next day. Then problems with the pool controls and even though they didn't install the pool controls, they knew all about them and came out and fixed. It was a problem with the heat pump which was installed by the pool builder but we thought that since the problem came up only after the solar heat system was installed that maybe the solar was the problem. It wasn't. But Stilwell came out, diagnosed the problem and its all good since then. Good reliable people like this belong on Angie's list.

My neighbors recommended Stilwell Solar to me back in 1990. I called them for a quote and they installed my pool solar heater panels a few weeks later. Everything went perfectly, just as planned - TWICE!
They installed the first system in approximately 1992 and the second system when I had the house reroofed in 2006. I intend to call them again when the current system starts and quot;to goand quot;. They have been wonderful to work with and really do honor their warranties! Guess I am just another one of those and quot;long time satisfied clients !

The system was installed two years ago and the install was done poorly because the pipes leading from the panels to the pool pump were not completely buried underground as they were supposed to be which was brought to my attention by the person that cuts my grass. He was concerned that the exposed pipes would be broken by the mower if they were not deep enough and were not properly set into the ground. Enough was showing that you could push on the top and the whole 20+ feet of pipe would move which meant that not only did they not have enough dirt on top, they also did not have proper support on the bottom. When I called the installers came back out just went to the lot next door and took a few shovels of dirt and spread them on top of the pipes. I was not satisfied with the work because the downward pipe running down the wall should have been longer, therefore allowing the pipes to be put underground properly but it was obvious they did not want to take the time to do so. They made several more trips out to try and remedy the issue finally just telling me that the grass would just grow over the pipes and all would be fine. I ended up building up the ground myself and putting dirt not only over the pipes but under them too so there would be no issues.
Fast forward two years later and the supply valve failed that regulates the water going into the system. I called and spoke to Stephanie who tried to troubleshoot the valve over the phone and informed me that it was bad. The good news was that the parts were covered under warranty but the labor was not. When I inquired about the labor rate I felt it was too high and felt myself or someone else could do it at a lesser cost and I requested the new part. At this point Stephanie had the owner, Scott, call me because he wanted to come out and inspect the part himself. Scott arrived and confirmed Stephanie's assessment that the valve was bad. When I repeated my displeasure with the subjective labor rate and that I would just like the part and take care of the repairs myself Scott was displeased with my request and told me that he would sell me the part and if the old part was found to be broken he would refund my money....this is after he has already stated that the part was broken! I explained my previous experience with his company and my hesitation to pay his installers, who did not install the piping right to begin with during the install, and he became agitated. I requested the manufacturer contact information and he pointed to the box on the wall and left. I will be following up with the Better Business Bureau as well as the manufacturer to get the resolution to get my system back in working order. Despite the good reviews this company has, Scott and his team are unable to respond and fulfill service after the sale. The good news is that there are many other choices in Lee and Collier County to find solar providers and I will be sure to screen the next one more thoroughly when I look to add a solar water heater.

As an update, I recently had a problem with the panels making a pounding noise on the roof and the pump. I called a repair person to come take a look at it and he easily found out what the problem was. When Stillwater installed the check valve from the roof going to the filter, they used one that clearly said and quot;vertical use onlyand quot; but they mounted it in a horizontal position. As time passes I am sure there will be other instances where Stillwater Solar's poor workmanship and customer service will continue to be a problem. BEWARE and notice that most of the good reviews were made after the initial install, not after a problem with the POOR workmanship or POOR customer service needed attention.

From top to bottom it was a good experience. I contacted the company and they had a representative call me back within an hour to set up an appointment. When we met he was very professional. He looked at our pool, took measurements and figured the best place for the solar panels. Then he talked about his product and the installation process. During the convesation he pointed out a great warrenty program that was included with the panels. He did say there was a 2 week back log. He left me a proposal with cost and information. All I had to do was sign no money until the job was done) and get the proposal back to the company.
After getting the signed contract back to the company I was assigned a date that was 2 weeks out and I was given a 30 minute window for his arrival. That was the only bad side as he showed up 2 hours after the assigned time. The technician was professional yet did not hessitate to answer questions. He installed the solar panels in about 4 hours and gave me a detailed lesson on how it worked.
The pool water increased in temp within 2 days. This was a great purchase and I would recommend Stillwell Solar to all who are looking into solar heat.
Later, I had questions about the system and called Stillwell. They answered all my questions and made sure I understood before hanging up.
Again, I would strongly recommend Stillwell Solar.

Scott came out and gave us a quote that was $1500 lower than the competition plus a 12 year warranty. We said yes on the spot. The guys came out a few days later and installed the new system. Thunderstorms cut their day short but they were back the next day to finish the job. we had a small leak a couple of days later so we called Scott. He called us right back and came out the next day to fix the problem. This is a stand up company, very professional. Excellent quality work!

When I called Stiwelll they came out very promptly . I had originally hoped to go with solar panels. Upon checking the roof it was explained that I did not have enough space for more than 4 or 5 panels and that would not heat the pool in the winter months to wher5e I wanted the temperature to be. So I had a new heat pump installed.' It would have been installed the next day but I had it delayed as I was not going to be home. The free estimate was the exact price I was told Workers were all knowledgeable and polite. I was very pleased with the professionalism of this company. I had them come out and put in a new pump as mine had been leaking since bought the house. My pool is now clear and the water level is staying where it should be and I am nor wasting water filling it each day. I would use this company again and highly recommend them.
