They were fantastic. They were always on time and set it down exactly how we wanted it.

Everything went fine except for the cost. It's not exactly clear to me but I think PODS has a national office in FL and local franchises. I contacted someplace on-line to get initial information. I wanted to compare costs etc. When I made the specific call to schedule our move, I assumed I was contracting under the same information. It wasn't until 3 months later that I realized our monthly storage fee was higher than I expected. Upon contacting PODS national I was told that the original quote was good for only 7 days, that the discounted monthly storage rate had been a limited franchisee special and that my final contract was at different rates. They claimed that I should have been told about the 7 day limit---maybe I was but forgot it. I probably should have reviewed the final contract more carefully but in the chaos of moving I didn't. The moral of my story is to be careful. The actual additional cost was probably $500-$600. We chose PODS because the cost estimate between it and the U-Haul option was quite close and we didn't have to worry about the 2 day drive. Had we realized the final costs, we may have made a different decision.

They are not air tight so cover everything you have in there because bugs get in there.  I'm sure they are not sealed because they need air flow.  Around the top they have a roofing anchored down very well but it's not anchored down because they need ventilation.  I had wrapped things in the plastic they provide and my things stayed very clean.  If I didn't have that I would have an issue, I don't have a complaint with the company - I"m very happy. The people who picked it up and dropped it off were very nice.  I think this is a good bit of information for people who may use them.  I would say cover upholstery and whatever else with blankets, etc.  The service it self is easy and amazing.  If you're packing it yourself you have more time to pack.  You call them and they drop the container off, you arrange a time for them to pick it up - usually several days later.  Then they come and pick it up and take it away.   Then they take it where ever you want it, they give you the date that they will deliver and they give you a 2 hour  time window and they were here.  I had it on Saturday and they picked it up on Tuesday.  I also needed help getting things off the pod that were heavy and they give you a phone number of people who are insured and bonded and you can hire them by the hour to come and unload.  You can do it for as little as an hour and I needed them for an hour and a little bit so they added on the half hour or whatever.  That was a nice service too because sometimes you can't unload it all yourself.  It cost as much as it did because I was moving so far away.  They had different sizes of pods to use.  I wished it had been cheaper but I do understand they have to run their business.
