They were very responsive and sales rep was professional and courteous. The installation team worked efficiently and were very polite. They went out of their way to make sure that everything was okay and done properly. The result is a beautiful lawn. All of our neighbors and many people in our community have commented on how beautiful it is.

Such an amazing job! Our backyard went from looking like a barren wasteland to a tropical paradise after the turf was installed.  We had multiple contractors come out for quotes before choosing this company.  Some companies were cheaper but none had the same quality of product, amount of aggregate (important for drainage), or warranty which was the big winner for us.  We need this lawn to last through 3 dogs and 2 kids.  So far it looks great and has been a life changer.  The company came out quickly, was incredibly accommodating and professional.

Review addendum 10/13/2015:

We have contacted Alternascape SEVERAL times regarding an installation problem that has yet to be corrected (6 months after "completion"). There are a couple of areas of the 700 Sq.Ft. of artificial turf installed, which, with our limited knowledge, appear to be a problem with defective materials. There are areas where the artificial turf will not stand up as it is supposed to and the company was notified of this right after completion on the installation of the artificial turf. We have talked with everyone from Customer Care to one of the owners of Alternascape. They have told us that the problem is a result of the area being a high traffic area. Two adults and two 15 pound dogs live here, that's the "traffic". If the "EasyTurf" product can not stand up this minimal amount of traffic, I would suggest that you think twice before investing the high cost of having Alternascape install artificialturf in your yard. According to Altenascape, there is a 15-year installation warranty and a 15-year product warranty. Our investment was just under $10,000.00 for the 700 square feet installed. Not an inexpensive project. As of the last email correspondence (Approx. a month ago), Alternascape has dismissed our problem with no further follow-up. Can we live with it? Absolutely! Should we have to live with inferior product for the amount we paid? No! Yes, our yard was transformed, but not to the level promised. 

As of this writing (10/13/2015) I reserve the right to amend our review should Alternascape live up to their end of the contract and pursue a satisfactory correcttion.


The review (below) of the lawn job done at our home was written immediately after completion. With hindsight, I see that I should have waited to write a review after the "dust settled" and we were able to see the product in use. The above is an addendum to our original review of the job "completed" in April 2015.


This review was written in April 2015 right after installation:

Our yard is situated such that in the eleven years we have been living here, growing grass in the back of our home has been close to impossible.  We have two dogs and wanted to be able to let them have a space as well as provide us with a great
space.  Based on that, we decided to have artificial turf installed in the 700 square foot area behind the house and
partially down each side.
After some research, we decided to have this project done by AlternaScapes.  There are many artificial turf products on
the market but only one of true quality.   AlternaScapes is the only company using this product.  As a matter
of fact, it is so good, it is the only product they install.  Measured, discussed, priced and scheduled and
we were ready to begin.
In that the product speaks for itself, the primary purpose of this review is to highlight the installation process and final product.  The onsite crew, which consisted of  Bo Birmingham, Andrew Harper and Jose` Diaz is what makes this company.  Marketing AlternaScapes artificial turf can be done by anyone.  As I said, it sells itself.  The installation, which by the
way took three days, is the true measure of this company.  Once the project was started, I knew we made
the right choice.  Our onsite crew was dedicated to providing excellence in product installation and superb customer
service and hit the mark with five stars.  Their knowledge, experience and hard work (I mean HARD work) gave us a
yard we never thought we could have.  
We are thoroughly pleased with the transformation to our yard.  I would highly recommend AlternaScapes to anyone deciding to have artificial turf installed.  I would also briefly mention that this company's management should also be acknowledged
for being able to recognize outstanding individuals during their hiring process for their onsite teams.  It is these
highly dedicated individuals that are the face, reputation and future of AlternaScapes.  I would also suggest that you check out their website at www.justlikegrass.com.

Performed the job on time (just over 1000 square feet) . The crew worked very hard. Finished on budget. The only detractor was that they accidentally cut some wires for our landscape lighting, which they repaired to work perfectly again. Great job, overall! By the way, the artificial turf still looks great with rich color. People, as well as our dogs, love it. Easy to clean and care for. Environmentally friendly.  No watering, mowing, chemicals, except that we spray it now and then with diluted Simple Green Pro 5, which kills all sorts of germs, including e-coli. We are building a new home and will again have artificial turf in the back yard. Really helps keep our dogs and our lanai/ home much more clean!

They did a great job in two days. The yard looks great! The only question for me is how well it will actually hold up and continue to look as good. That will have to wait for a later up-date review. So far very pleased.

The company sent an incredible crew out and they worked hard for the entire week, leveling, filling, installing. Its been almost a year and looks like new. The dogs love it, I love it. Yes, it was ridiculously expensive, but was cheaper than having to move.

Excellent knowledge. Estimates on target. Completed all work within dates agreed upon. Office is a pleasure to work with- always answered. No passing of the buck.
They dealt with a leaking pool and water 28" to their knees in the area to be covered with their product. They dealt with fire ants and pouring rain and slopes and removing an ornamental tree. 
They came back 30 mo later and corrected an area that dipped too low due to water runoff not draining enough underneath. 
Would use again and recommend. 

Overall it was a good experience.  I called Alternascapes and they scheduled an appointment to come to my home the following week.  After explaining the differences is artificial grass and the instillation process, we decided on what would work best for my situation.  We set up a date to for them to come out and start laying the grass.  They were right on time and finished the job on schedule.  When they were done they explained what they did and how to care for my new lawn. 
I am writing this review a year later and the lawn has been better than I imagined.  My dogs are clean everytime they come inside the house and the lawn still looks great.  I have recommended Alternascapes to my friends who have dogs or just don't want to deal with the hassle of caring for a lawn.

We used them to install a dog run area inside a fence in new construction. Our backyard borders a lake and were in the midst of pool construction that was leaking, which was not known to us during the Alternascape project. We were impressed through every step. Jason, the sales rep was very knowledgeable, professional and came out on 3 occasions as we worked through our decision process. We added a small area inside the pool cage to host planters and enlarged the dog run area. He called each time before coming and once when unexpectedly delayed 10 minutes he called to advise us of this. The foreman was quite experienced. He found his crew in knee deep water due to either heavy rains, lake water, underground water source or the pool construction. He consulted with his office, came up with a plan and consulted us on possible solutions. He was able to add a french drain criss-crossing the entire dog run area and draining into the lake that alleviated the standing water issue and still complete the project on time, in less than 3 days!The pool construction went on another 7 weeks and was turned over to us. At that time we reconnected the sprinklers. The area at one edge of the run sunk 3 inches overnight so we called for an inspection. They came out 2 days later, said it appeared one sprinkler hose that was cut had not been capped off and that all was covered by warranty. The next business day they came out with a crew to repair it in one day. They discovered a buried sprinkler hose had been cut and burrowed down into the muck by the pool company so that it was not visible to the installation crew because it was buried so deep and they had to deal with the standing water/mud issue that masked the problem. We considered this project to be quite an investment and were hesitant to spend the money but after our experience with them we have realized their true value and would do it again. This was money well spent and is an investment to our home not to mention the reason for the run. Our dog, Tilly, has access to a year round outdoor area that is maintenance free- no weeding, mowing, ants, fleas and always picture perfect.
