This the car was deemed to have a sticky substance in the shifter that was causing the key to have difficulty being removed. A month later or so the same problem occurred and this time the problem was deemed to be an expensive solenoid defect. So far the third fix has done the trick. Very disappointed that the earlier visits didn't find or correct this problem.
