This had to be one of the worst contractors we have ever encountered. After multiple problems with the crew's work, the owner (Jimmy) came out only once, and that was only to get the contract signed. Top Gun sent out a job supervisor and his assistant to do the work. The crew did MASSIVE DAMAGE to the structure of our historical home by cutting deep into the ceiling support beams of our kitchen to run wires. Additionally, the crew used a drill and a large wood bit as their primary tool to unnecessarily gouge through our walls, ceilings, and wall studs. They argued that the damage was not significant, and not to worry about it until they were shown that they violated Florida structural building code. Again, the owner would not come to our home to resolve it, and he sent out his crew supervisor to handle it. After much heated discussion, they agreed that they damaged the structure, and they tried to fix the problem by nailing up (10) 2x6 supports. They then proceeded to cut holes through the supports in incorrect locations to again violate the structural building code. When this issue was brought to the attention of Top Gun, they ignored it and proceeded on with their incompetent work.
The electrical work was very poor, and we are now having to bring in a competent contractor to fix Top Gun's work. Top Gun took every short cut imaginable to take our money and leave the job site. We have circuits that cannot stay on together without popping breakers. They refused to run the building code recommended number of circuits for a kitchen, which now places our home at risk. There are multiple wires laying on the ground in our crawl space, which violates building code best practices. They now refuse to fix the problems they created.
Now we have a structurally compromised home and questionable wiring. I am confident that they will reply with lame excuses for their incompetence and unprofessional handling of the issues, but you are wise to stay away from Top Gun Electrical!
