I bought a 1950s Singer 401A last year and brought it to Ember for a complete servicing. They did a fantastic job. Recently I was having a few issues; bobbin jamming, dropped stitches, etc. I brought it in a few weeks ago because the bobbin kept jamming up. While I waited they had a look at it and determined that some of my bobbins we're quite right. They were the right type but clearly not high quality - when compared to a high quality bobbin even I could tell a stark difference. No charge for that. Last week I brought it in for skipped stitches - again, they had a look while I waited and it turned out to need a very slight adjustment but it was mostly user error and, with their, advice it seems to be working just fine. Again, no charge. Plus they didn't laugh at me or anything even though I probably deserve it a bit! :)

My mother also used them. I am pretty happy with their service. They didn't charge me the last time because it wasn't something that he could fix.
