Took my pet there for an emergency visit. She could not stand or walk. The potential diagnosis I was given for my pet was completely WRONG! I was told that possibly my pet might need surgery and could have problems with the discs in her back and that I might want to see Blue Pearl (?????). By the next day she was 75% improved so I took her to the SPCA in St Pete and was told she had "vestibular syndrome" which is a nonthreatening condition and would resolve on its own. I had asked the vet at Dunedin Animal Medical Center if she could possibly have this condition and was told no. I cannot even imagine the costs I would have incurred had I followed his instructions. I am happy to say she is perfectly fine now. I have written DAMC numerous times in regards to the above and have not received as much as an apology.

I have visited this clnic multiple times with two sick dogs (diarrhea) over the past 2 weeks. On the Tuesday before Thanksgiving I was there with one of my dogs because his symptoms continued. The vet suggested I cancel my out of town trip and bring him in the next morning for an IV of fluids and repeat x-rays. The tech printed a copy of the suggested plan for me and told me to drop my dog off anytime after 8am the next day. I dropped my dog off at 8 as recommended and asked that in addition to the IV fluids and x-ray they add a blood test. They had me sign a consent form that I was consenting to treatment. By 10am my other dog was sick, so I called the clinic. I explained my one dog was there. The lady that answered the phone quickly responded, “He isn’t here”. At that point I drove to the office. Of course, he WAS there . . . Moving on, I knew the clinic closed at 8p so at 5p when I hadn’t heard from anyone I called. I asked if my dog was ready and they told me to come over in about 20 minutes. When I went over, I was told he had not received an IV, fluids or any x-rays! The ONLY thing they had done was the blood test I requested. I was clearly furious and left very upset! My dog had been sick for two weeks, it was now the night before Thanksgiving and I was following vet orders by bringing him in. Around 8pm the vet that was working called me to tell me the results of the blood test. He also told me he was told I refused any treatment and that is why my dog sat there all day without an IV, fluids or x-rays. Really?? Why would I drop my dog off only to refuse his treatment?? AND I signed for treatment! The Monday after the holiday weekend I called the office and asked to speak to the office manager and requested a copy of all of my dogs’ records (as I will not be going back). Hours later I received a call from a gentleman. He told me he, “worked in the back” and the manger wasn’t available. I asked if the manager could call me and he said he would try to help. I started going through why I was unhappy – clearly getting more upset as I continued to tell my story. He then interrupted me to tell me, “he wasn’t a flunky he owned the **** place!”. Really? Was it necessary to hide that from the beginning and to be rude in telling me? What was the point? I wanted to speak to someone in charge, of course I would be happy to speak to an owner – had I known I was speaking to the owner. I am appalled by the whole situation but especially the way my dog was treated. It is only speculation of course, but after I brought him home that night he immediately ran to the bathroom and then drank and drank water. I can only assume his needs were minimally met at best for the 11 hours he spent in a cage receiving NO TREATMENT! Wouldn’t it make sense to call me, the owner, and ask why he was there if you thought he wasn’t getting any treatment? The entire day was a ridiculous mess. My two-week experience with this clinic was disappointing at best. I will never return to this place - especially when there are simply amazing vets like Chris F, DVM and Kevin A, DVM so close. I wanted to love this place because it was so close to home but all I got for two weeks of diarrhea was a $2,000 credit card bill and a tremendous amount of heartache when it turns out a $10 antibiotic rx cleared up all their symptoms in 24 hours. Ridiculous.

This was a first time visit for me. I only came because of all the good reviews. Now I see that they might be fake. I went on a Saturday 02-11-2017 so maybe the weekday veterinarians are better then the one I encountered. My cat had blood on his lower lip, was throwing up constantly, very little eating or drinking, was extremely lethargic, and had hot ears. Before I took my cat I took checked the litter box for signs of worms. I checked his body for any cuts or bleeding. When we got there I repeatedly told the veterinarians assistants the problems. Then when the vet came in I told him as well. Dr. D'amico barely took the time to inspect my cat and he was literally inspecting him so I could not see what he was doing. He at least checked my cats mouth as he said he saw a broken tooth. I asked what he thought the problem was he replied by telling me he did not know. That there were a list of things we could do as in test then proceeded to tell the vet techs to get the pricing for me then left.... So I had the blood test done thinking that they would at least be able to tell me the cause then. I was wrong.. The next day the person from the veterinarians office called to tell me the he had elevated white blood cell count and liver enzymes. The proceeded to ask if I wanted medication to reduce the liver enzymes. He NEVER told me the problem! Now a week later my cat is still throwing up and his ears (that were not inspected) are horrible. They are bleeding from obvious scratching as done by the cat. But for what reason I don't know because the vet I took him to did NOT check them. When I called today (a week later) the person told me that the veterinarian who inspected my cat put that his ears were fine even though I TOLD them that they were not! Now I have to take my cat somewhere else because he did not do a full inspection, evaluation and diagnosis for my cat. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and other agencies that deals with negligent veterinarians.
I just found out that the license of the vet who inspected my cat is on probation. I suggest everyone look up the veterinarians before you choose. I wish I would have.

We often use their cat boarding services. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. Im very reassured by how much they genuinely care about Smokey and aim to give him a comfortable, fun experience. They could probably benefit from more staff on the front desk during busy times but aside from that we are very satisfied with the cat boarding service and sincerely thank the staff for their efforts in caring for our sweet boy Smokey.

They were open seven days a week. They were very professional. They're a great group of people. They care about the dogs. They took care of them. I can tell that they really care about the animals. They treated us very well. I had no complaints about that at all. When I came in at my appointment time, they took me to a doctor's waiting office. I don't wait nearly as long as you do at the doctor's office.  Within 5 to 10 minutes, the vet is in there and they're beginning the exam and doing what they need to do.

Working with Dr. Para on a skin problem with my dog. Dr. Para took a personal interest in our case because of the difficulty we had been having for over 5 years trying to resolve the dog's issues. I prefer to work with one doctor even though the other female vet had also treated our dog in an emergency. She was also knowledgeable and compassionate. I like the entire team at this facility. I especially like that they call you a day or two after your visit to check up on the progress of your animal. It is a bit costly, I must admit, but much of that expense is because of the cost of the medications involved. Dr. Para always tries to work with us as inexpensively as possible because she understands we are elderly, on a fixed income, and have already spent literally thousands of dollars trying to resolve these skin issues in the past.

Dr. Parra diagnosed my pet with anemia when two other veterinarians failed to do so when all signs were present, as well as an oncology specialist that failed to diagnose it. Not sure if it happens with all types of cancer, but severe anemia will affect how well, or if your pet responds to various cancer treatments. My pet did not respond to treatment as he had been anemic for a long time, but Dr. Parra worked with me until the end to try and find any solution to help or at least make him more comfortable. The only complaint I have is that she needs more confidence in her own abilities, as she is the type of veterinarian that could work right alongside the specialists.

The vet was very nice, the staff was not that knowledgeable. I am a nurse and need the cat's anal glands clean and the the tech named Andrea claimed they were inside the animal. She should know this basic procedure.
