The purchasers of our home used Tadd to inspect our property. We were so impressed with his thoroughness that we hired him to inspect a new home we are purchasing. Well-done. Highly recommend.

Inspection results policy and customer service was extremely unprofessional.

We actually had two inspections done.  The first was for a home on which we made an offer but decided to pass on after the inspection was complete.  James was the Britannia inspector for both homes.  He was punctual, professional, and helpful.  The Inspection was extremely thorough, and the reports were provided in a very timely manner.  Because the second home had a very early closing date, we were not able to give Britannia much lead time.  James adjusted his schedule to accommodate us.  We were given a discount on the second inspection, which was very much appreciated.  I don't believe there was a square inch of either house that was not inspected and assessed.
This company, and James in particular, provide excellent, timely service, and I recommend them highly.

Britannai was recommended to me by my buyers agent and they just did a terrible job in inspecting my house.  Once I moved in I discovered ALL the items the inspectors missed, on TWO inspections. Here is what they missed:
1) Front door is a double 60x80 door; whenever, you go to open or close the door the whole door shakes and vibrates b/c the left side of the door does not lock properly.  The previous owner used clear silicon in an attempt to hold the locking mechanism and cover together.  [but that is OK with Britania]
2) Outlets with no covers on them.  In Fl apparently outlets do not need covers on them.
3) Holes in wall of a bedroom closet.
4) Holes in the wall holding up the A/C unit. 
5) Black mold like substance on the side of the cinder block wall. Discovered that an A/C drain line was leaking internal causing water to enter the garage.
6) Pool timer is dead.
7) NO VALVES HANDLES on the pool controls.  Who needs valve hands on pool controls I guess?
8) Lania sliding doors are very heavy to pull open and close requiring two hands to open and close?  
9) Garage window does NOT open.  Who needs windows to open??
10) Previous owner installed Sat dishes on roof and just strung interior cable wires off the sides of the house.  The heat just destroyed the interior cable wires exposing the interior to the elements, but that is OK accordingly to Britannai.
11) Doors off the hinges.  Accordingly to Britannia doors do not have to be installed on their hinges.  
12) Down spouts that are not securely connected to each other.  So, when the wind blows they just go blowing away. 
13) Garage door spring is dead, not supporting the door properly and needs to be replace. 
Britannai charged me $600.00 to do an "Initial" inspection.  Then they charged me an additional $100.00 to do a 2nd inspection.
All Britannai does is take your money and run.  Performing the minimalist inspection possible.  
My advice, do not pick them to inspect your new home.

Very professional inspection of the condo's electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, windows. Went up to the roof and took photos of all  the appliances (the inspector, David Booth, said that some sellers switch out appliances before the sale!).  Checked out a couple of water stains and documented and explained needed repairs to the electrical system.
David Booth explained a lot of what he was doing and answered our questions.
Very thorough inspection.

We have not yet closed on the home but feel more secure in our decision and are glad for James's comprehensive and informative input. 
10/11/12: we closed on the home and have used James's reports and those questions of ours that he kindly answered during the entire purchasing (and insurance-shopping!) process. We will use BBC for any future house inspections. 
One correction: the home was built in 1963, not 1943.

Customer Service was great throughout the whole process.

I picked this company due to a recommendation from a friend. The inspector arrived about 15 minutes late but it was easily forgiven as the overall experience was wonderful. He was very professional and explained everything he was doing. I felt completely confident in his knowledge and work. I also received a very detail report within 24 hours of the inspection. I would definitely look for their help again if I ever need another home inspection.

Britannia found things that we hadn't even thought to look for, and helped us know exactly what we were getting.

He was very thorough and professional during the inspection. He definitely knows what he is doing and I had complete confidence in him. I am a new resident and homeowner in Florida and he gave me invaluable amount of references of people he knows in the area and I was grateful for that! I would highly recommend him!!

Representative arrived on time, took nearly two and a half hours, and left nothing untouched or untried. He had a variety of high-tech devices, including remote temperature sensing device as well as humidity testing device to determine if water had been leaking from roof into ceiling area. Went underneath trailer to inspect air ducts, plumbing, and insulation. Provided a comprehensive written report by email the next day. Outstanding service!

PETER SMITH OF BRITANNIA ARRIVED ON SHEDULE AND WITH THE TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT NECESSARY TO EVALUATE THE MOBILE HOME. PETER SPENT ABOUT 3 HOURS AND APPEARED VERY COMPLETE IN HIS INSPECTION. HE POINTED OUT AREAS OF CONCERN AS HE FOUND THEM AND INDICATED IF THEY WERE SERIOUS OR JUST SOMETHING WE WOULD WANT TO IMPROVE. UPON COMPLETION HE ISSUED A 17 PAGE REPORT THAT WAS AN EXCELLENT DOCUMENT FOR US TO MAKE OUR PURCHASING DECISION ON.

THE INSPECTOR, PETER A. SMITH, ARRIVED ON TIME AND WAS PREPARED WITH ALL THE EQUIPMENT NEEDED FOR THE INSPECTION. WHAT I APPRECIATED WAS THAT HE GAVE ME A RUNNING DESCRIPTION OF HIS OBSERVATIONS WHICH HELPED WHEN READING THE REPORT AND PLANNING FOR THE CORRECTIONS.

DAVID BOOTH WAS OUTSTANDING. HE WAS VERY THOROUGH AND TOOK THE TIME TO EXPLAIN THE REPAIR WORK THAT WAS NEEDED AND HOW SOON WE WOULD NEED TO DO IT. HE EVEN GAVE US SUGGESTIONS FOR HOW TO IMPROVE AND REMODEL OUR NEW HOME. I WILL ABSOLUTELY USE HIM AGAIN THE NEXT TIME WE BUY A HOME.

I HAVE HIRED THIS COMPANY IN THE PAST AND WOULD DO SO AGAIN. I THINK DAVID BOOTH IS THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS. HE PROVIDES A DETAILED REPORT, INSPECTS EVERY MINUTE CORNER OF THE HOUSE, IS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT OLDER HOMES SO HE CAN ANSWER QUESTIONS ABOUT ANYTHING, IS PERSONABLE AND POLITE. HIS PRICE IS PROBABLY A FEW DOLLARS ABOVE OTHERS, BUT HE IS REALLY WORTH IT. I WILL HIRE HIM AGAIN!
