The monthly chemical treatments have been working out great now that we've got my yard's requirements fine-tuned to promote growth & minimize pests.  This year's spring clean-up went nicely once we finally got it to happen; it was a busy time of the year for their crew.  I wondered why their foreman asked to borrow a pair of my shears, but he did nice work and made a point to return them before departing.
I had their irrigation folks make some modifications to my system three years ago that also went great.  I had them inspect my system this year but this time they couldn't make the same day adjustments.  Finally agreed on the minor irrigation modifications two months ago but they never made it happen.  They seem more interested in the bigger and also longer-term work.

I contracted with ProTurf to install all new sod in May 2012 and then provide the weekly maintenance and fertilization.  The service started off poor from the very beginning.  During the sod installation, they actually laid down many areas of already "dead" sod.  They reassured me that they would make it right.  Move forward to November 2012, none of the dead sod was replaced so I terminated my services.  The owner called me and promised the sod would be replaced in the beginning of the 2013 growing season.  So, against my better judgement I continued service.  Move forward to June 2013, sod still not replaced.  Now, on to the next problem...I paid this company $170 per month to maintain my yard, including fertilization, weed, insect and fungus control.  Most of my backyard is dead from a fungus, according to ProTurf themselves.  I've been trying to get it fixed for over a month now.  I can't even get a returned call at this point.  Do yourself a favor...don't even think about using this company.

I pay them monthly.  They are pretty good but I got to keep after them; it is the same for all lawn care places.  They do yard work as well but I do not hire them for that.
