Flower Place

Two Major Problems: Flowers were delivered a day late. Arrangement was very poor quality. I ordered birthday flowers (through Teleflora, who used A Flower Place locally) for a family member to be delivered on 5/10/13, and they were delivered the following day, without notifying me that they would be late (in fact, I got an email confirmation saying they arrived on 5/10 when they didn't until 5/11, which I found misleading). We had to awkwardly ask the recipient if she received her birthday flowers before I called Teleflora to find out what went wrong. I contacted Teleflora and they offered to refund $10.00 of the approximately $60 total, which I accepted. Then I saw the flowers... they were embarrassing. We ordered a simple daisy bouquet, which should not have been difficult to get right. The flowers were all still clumped together on their original stems, not cut and arranged in any particular way. Just jammed into a vase on long stems with a little greenery around the bottom and a sloppy bow. If I can add a photo somewhere on here, I will. I contacted Teleflora, with whom I placed the order, to request a full refund and was told that the florist reserves the right to pick up the flowers if a full refund is issued. I declined the refund under those terms, as I did not wish to put my 80 year old family member through the stress of a potentially awkward interaction of having her already late, poor quality birthday flowers taken away. So, my only recourse at the moment is to leave a review letting others know the kind of service, professionalism and integrity they can expect when ordering through Teleflora and A Flower Place. I realize that this order was to be delivered over the very busy Mother's Day weekend, but florists should either be prepared adequately with supplies and personnel to accommodate the high volume of orders, or simply decline orders they aren't prepared to fill in a timely manner with a quality product. I would also like to add that I did not contact the florist directly regarding this matter, as my transaction was with their representative and partner, Teleflora. If the florist has a problem with how Teleflora handled this customer service interaction, they can take it up with Teleflora. Enough of my time, energy and money have been wasted. I hope this review spares someone else a headache!
