SUMMERLAND POOLS

Summerland was hired to resurface my pool sometime before 2005's hurricane Wilma.  They were also servicing my pool on a weekly basis.  I did not live in my house full time so I did not supervise any of the work.  As a result they covered up one of the pool return jets.  It took them multiple weeks to come out and clean up the landscaping debris in the pool from the hurricane and the spots on the bottom of the pool re appeared immediately.  When questioned they said it was because of the hurricane debris.  I bring this up now, even though I never really fought for resolution before because I am getting ready to re surface my pool.

I was told my pool filter needed to be replaced after it started leaking profusely.  This blatant leak only occurred after my pool was inspected by a leak contractor referred by Summerland.  Coincidental?  I was and had been taking care of my own pool and had no trouble up until the time it started losing water and it was determined that it was the pool filter.  Two days after replacement I went away for five days and when I came back, my pool was GREEN! And filthy!  I immediately got the water tested and got chlorine, etc. but there was no change.   I called Summerland as the water was stagnant, the top full of bugs and the filters without any dirt in them.  The owner proceeded to tell me to clean the filter (I did, there is nothing in them.) Clean the basket ( I did there is nothing in it.)  "Well it must be your pump then.  I said, Don't you think it is a little strange how my pool was perfect, except for losing water, I get a new filter at the cost of nearly $600, and now all of a sudden my pump is broken?  He did not, nor did he think it appropriate to send someone out to look at it even though I live less than three miles away.  Horrible customer service!!!!
Fortunately, my friend came to visit and  realized the tech had put the pump in recirculate mode while he changed the filter and all the water was doing was recirculating.  It cost me an extra $60+ in chemicals to get it where it needed to be but I did it and without any help or support form Summerland!!

Our pool maintenance provider gave us notice after 10 years that he was retiring. We need a replacement maintenance provider and I researched on Angie's list and found Summerland pools.
They were very responsive to clean the pool with the first month's payment and responded very well to a problem with the pool pump motor that failed. I am very pleased with what they have done so far.

Every week our pool looks fantastic!! Give them a try, you'll like them.

Workers repeatedly failed to show up to perform the work.

For the last three summers, we have used them to maintain a pool where we went on a four month relocation.  It may seem we stayed on too long but we had faith that what was happening was "just an oversight".  But on return in October this year, we again found the filter completely clogged (as had happened twice before) and pump leaf catcher packed solid.  Based on what we observed when we were doing the cleaning ourselves, it had not been done for at least a month.

This is really sad because our first contacts with them were very positive and we had originally rated them as an A.
