Paul the owner was upfront and honest about the troubles with the truck and what was the most cost effective repair. The staff was very courteous and prompt with information and return phone calls including updated status. Was very happy with the job and the company.

I have a 14 year-old luxury car with 130,000 miles so I am sensitive to any condition that might give rise to failure that would cause me to be stranded on the highway. Recently, the car would not engage the transmission when placed in Drive- (i.e., the shifter was in Drive but the car would not move) - I was able to get it to move after shifting gears into reverse and back into drive, but I was concerned this might be an early sign of transmission trouble. I scheduled an appointment with Speedy Transmission to evaluate this. I was early for my appointment, and thus had to wait. I decided to leave my car with them because I had another appointment. I received a call later that day from Paul (owner?) explaining that he drove the car and did not find a failure condition; however, he suggested that because the situation I experienced occurred when the engine/transmission were cold (first thing in the morning), that I leave the car with them so that they could try to duplicate the situation first thing the next morning. I called Paul first thing the next day, and he had already looked at my car again. He explained that he was not able to duplicate the situation, and that he had my car on the lift and there was no evidence of a leak. He checked the quality of the transmission fluid and found it to be satisfactory, so he recommended no servicing was needed at present to change the fluid.
When I arrived to pick up the car, he told me that there was no charge for his time, and that while my car was on their lift, they noted a loose (hanging) muffler hanger which they re-attached. I offered to pay him for this work, but he refused.
This is a good customer-centric, businessman. My experience with him shows him to be a professional and honest man. I would not hesitate to patronize this business again -- it was an excellent experience for me.

I found this company on Angies List and this was my first experience with them.
Paul Promptly provided an evaluation of situation. Honda Dealer had claimed that approximately $1200 in repairs was necessary before the transmission failure occurred. Paul examined the car and determined that most of the dealer recommended repairs were unnecessary reducing the repair cost to control arm arm and brake pads to only $250 above the $1800 cost of repairing the transmission.
The transmission repair came in a little under the original estimate. Work was promptly completed when promised.
Paul is a pleasure to deal with. He is honest and competent. The transmission has been performing flawlessly after the repair.
Paul is my go to guy for all of my future services.

My son's SUV was slipping between first and second gear. Two years ago we had the transmission rebuilt by someone else. I assumed it would have to be rebuilt again. Since I live in Tampa and my son is going to school in Boca, I didn't know of any trustworthy transmission shops down there that he could take his Rodeo to. After reading the all the reviews on Angie's List, I told my son to take the car over to Speedy Transmission so they could determine what was wrong with it. Later he called me to inform that they had discovered that the accumulator pan was leaking and had to be replaced at a cost of $300. What ever that was I was certainly glad that the transmission didn't have to be rebuilt to the tune of $1,200 to $3,000. They replaced the pan within a few hours and the charge was eveb less than they estimated. I would certainly take my car back there if I were experiencing any kind of transmission issues. Paul the manager is great, but the the situation was not good and not sure really what happen- again paul was wonderful, so , i brought my car in -its an older car 98 ford explorer- yes its older but it is all i have-- the overdrive light was on- and they said a needed my tranny rebuilt and quoted me a price similar to another competitor- paul was nice on the phone , so i went there-- from there it was all down hill
i ended up paying 5oo more above the quote- they said AFTER i dropped my car it might be more and they would not know until they took the tranny apart-i though -ok -here we go- so i got a call and paul said it would be more- my car was there and i didnt want to go through any more hassles and i said just do it. 3 days later Paul picked me up in my car( which was nice) and i said it didnt sound right -hard loud gear shift change and when he put it in reverse it banged so loud he said he had to keep it again- another 3 days- -ok- got a call car was ready- so i went to pick up my car- got the keys-said thank u- got into my car and it would not start-- they wheeled into a bay- btw i had to call and employee from work to come get me-- not good- so i got a call later on when i was at work - Paul said i needed a fuel pump -475$-- odd - how did that happen in there hands?-another 3 days!-- ok not done- ok - so 3 days later i go to get my car and it was raining and i turned on the windshield wipers- and guess what?-- not working-had to get a ride again to work and left car-again!-- they said it was relay and i was able to get my car at the end of the day-- i dont know how possibly all that could happen- Paul could not be better- but where was the owner, u think through all of that he would have a least come to me and say sorry about the issues-- so many days of back and forth, rides to work and home from friends, from 1295- i ended up with 2500!!- and my transmission still does not seem right- to much of a bang when shifting. - - i have no clue what went on there - this is one of those situation u have to take there word on it being i am not a mechanic,

Paul came highly recommended and was excellent. I called Paul and told my car broke down and would have to
be towed to the shop. He explained the entire process and what each step would be and what the approximate cost would be. After speaking to Paul I decided to have my car towed to the shop. He sent a tow truck which arrived about 45
minutes later. After the car was picked up he called me to let me know the car arrived safe and would take a look at it that afternoon. He called to tell me that he was starting to look at it. Paul was very diligent in calling meat each
step of the process to let me know what was happening and to get my authorization to do the work. Once the work was finished he even came to my home to get me.
Once I got behind the wheel I noticed the difference in the car immediately. As soon as I moved the shift lever I could tell something was different in a good way. Once I pulled out onto the road I realized what a difference there was
in the way the car shifted and felt as I drove. I noticed that the transmission not only shifted perfectly smooth but that the engine did not lose rpm`s the way it was before. Instead the car accelerated smoothly. It felt like it had a
lot more power. I realized that there was something missing. I was expecting to feel harder shifts and things that were not happening anymore. The car was just going down the road smoothly. I realized I had gotten used to certain quirks in
the transmission that were now gone.

I am a single female and I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. My Transmission was rebuilt a couple of years ago and I thought I needed it rebuilt again. It was hesitating from one gear to the other.
I didn't have a way back to work when dropping the car off so Art had a very nice lady who worked there (Sorry I forgot her name) to drive me to work after I dropped my truck off. Art called me within a couple of hours to tell me that my fluid was leaking and the the hoses needed replacing. I'm so glad I didn't have to pay for a rebuild! They fixed my truck that same day so that i didn't have to rent a car. Onec again the nice lady came and picked me up to bring me back to the shop to pick up my truck. I appreciated them working with me. I will definitely be going there agan for any of my transmission needs.

My Jeep broke in Delray Beach, 50 miles from my home, where I was visiting my son. Speedy Transmission did not try to claim that I needed an expensive repair, the bushing and labor total was about $56.00. They are honest mechanics. The only complaint is that my car broke late on a Friday and Speedy is closed on Saturday and Sunday... had to wait until Monday to diagnose and repair. Overall I'm glad I left the vehicle and waited a couple days as opposed to getting ripped off somewhere else.

I took my car in when my appointment was scheduled, they finished it in two days (another estimate that I had received called for my car to be left for 5 days). They kept in touch with me with an interim phone call and were finished with my car 3-4 hours before they had stated.
