I've had to call to check on the status of my repair three times over seven days. During my third call, the owners wife said she couldn't tell me when they would be out and even more disturbing, she couldn't say when she would be able to say. She proceeded to refer to my raising my voice as and quot;disgustingand quot; and and quot;low classand quot;. and quot;Disgustingand quot; is how I would describe my two kitchen sinks in my one year old, 11,000 sq. foot home because the kitchen faucets installed by Soltys Plumbing don't have enough water flowing through them to adequately rinse the sinks out, rinse dishes, or fill pots, despite all too polite previous pleas they do something sooner rather than later, given the major inconvenience.
The homes water booster pump, also installed by Soltys Plumbing, began malfunctioning and intermittently fails to shut off, resulting in the pump running nonstop. Water trapped in the pump is heated, which results in hot water flowing into cold water faucets when they are turned on. It's unknown if this hot water flows into the toilets, the homes water filtration system and the icemakers.
Two of the new water saving toilets installed by Soltys Plumbing have an audible water trickle 24 hours a day, despite two attempts to fix them. Perhaps the trickle is as a result of a hot water recirculating zone valve, also installed by Soltys Plumbing, that at one point had hot water flowing though cold water pipes. Excuse my raising my voice. I guess my having to repeatedly call, run up and down three floors to shut a booster pump on and off multiple times a day, brush my teeth with hot water, have my toilets trickle, have no pressure in my kitchen sinks, possibly have the warrantees or life of my appliances voided and having no status as to the fix, combined with the attitude I've gotten all three times I've called, caused my agitation.
As a former business owner that had over 500 customers, I can say with all certainty no one would ever be referred to in the context of and quot;disgustingand quot; and and quot;low classand quot; when checking on the status of their service or order.
Previously I had contacted Ryan's Plumbing which quoted me $140 an hour plus the part. I asked Ryan's when they could come by but they never contacted me. So I recommend Solty's.
Chris arrived when expected and was thorough, courteous and professional. If and when we need a plumber, this company will be our first call.
The plumber who came replaced one brass nut and one rubber washer, and he spent less than 1/2 hour on the job. For this work, we thought the price of $135.00 was excessive. I blame myself for not asking for an estimate in advance, or at least a quote for labor by the hour, but I did not.
I said I would use this company again, and I guess I would, because they do good work, but first I would look around for a price that I think is more fair.
Overall the service was very good. I did not have to fight about not being charged for the second visit as the technician made sure the front office knew it was for the same problem as the first visit, which the technician had incorrectly diagnosed. The office was very helpful and professional. The technician who did the first 3 visits, Chris, was very thorough). The second technician was very helpful (can't remember his name) and boxed up the wrong color toilet for me.
As for cost, I thought the initial charge was a bit high, but I did not get other estimates as I had obtained Solty's name as a recommendation from someone who lives near me. The other costs I thought were fair.I would definitely use this company again.
