Excellent workmanship!

Excellent -- I had a cedar chest in a bedroom that did not match other furniture -- thought a slipcover would be just the thing to solve the problem..but I had never had a slipcover made for anything before. I talked with Susan about the fabric type, lining, if the cover would be washed or dry cleaned..... and she provided excellent guidance on the amount of fabric and lining needed. For this relatively small but bulky item, I did exact measurements myself and drew a diagram as well. We discussed stitching, trim, placement of the velcro for closure and all the finish elements. The finished (lined) product was perfect -- fit like a glove and finish work was excellent. If only I had other pieces that required a slipcover.... Excellent experience!

Sue was really flexible. It took the fabric a long time to get to her and she was able to work around that. She kept in touch with me every step of the way. All of her work is done perfectly . I felt I could really trust her judgment about details that I just wasn't sure about. She is really good at what she does. She is dependable and punctual. She is absolutely my go-to girl for any more slipcover projects!

I got lucky finding Sue Kapela Slipcovers! Having relocated from another state I enrolled in Angie's List as a resource for local services. I needed upholstery work, drapery and custom bed accents made.
Searching within Palm Beach County I came across S.Kapela Slipcovers with a link to Sue's website which offered samples of her projects and pricing. Sue is a one woman operation working from her home in Delray Beach minutes from the I95 Linton Avenue exit.
Next step, I gave her a call to discuss my proposed project. Sue is easy to communicate with and she offers her professional suggestions for the best end result. She's been doing this for a good number of years and is well versed - knowledgeable and experienced. Be sure to inform her of your fabric choice/s and specs BEFORE you buy the fabric. She'll tell you the yardage needed based on width and pattern repeat.
Today I picked up my finished bedskirt, bolsters and accent pillows. I am so pleased with the quality of Sue's craftsmanship!
I provided the fabrics and necessary materials and she created beautiful quality zippered upholstered bolsters and decorative pillows for my bed. I selected a damask patterned fabric and each pillow had the identical repeat and matching self welt.
The queen box pleated bedskirt she made is superior to store bought off the shelf items. It was lined and the attention to detail was evident when Sue used the decorative fabric to sew a five inch reveal on the three sides of the challis lining that covers the flat surface of the box springs. This way the seam that binds the hanging three sides of the skirt to the flat lining over the box spring visually appears as a continuation of the decorative fabric when sheets are tucked in between the mattress and the box springs.
I already have my next project on my to do list - the master bedroom custom drapery and bedding. Sue Kapela will be my go to person without hesitation.

This time I wanted five pillow covers made with zippers and separate lining covers for 2 of the feather pillows. I contacted her in the first week of December, dropped off my fabrics and pillow forms and had them on my couches by Dec. 20, 2012.
