Nixon Exteriors

Nixon Exteriors and Chuck Nixon has been a nightmare for our family. On January 5, 2021, Nixon Exteriors installed a 7 inch super gutter to our house for $8,980. They fastened it to the fascia, with small 2 inch screws which was not to code. They failed to permit this job. As a result of poor workmanship and the small screws, on Saturday June 1st of 2024 the screen room of our house COLLAPSED in rain causing damage and requiring complete renovation and repair. I called the owner, Chuck Nixon, and he initially was concerned, told me he remembered the job and agreed to come out, was interested in personally seeing the damage, then did not show up. He apologized, telling me he was “short staffed”, then, “a dear friend was in the hospital”, finally he was “on vacation, but I promise I will take care of this when I get back.” He now tells me as of Friday, 8/23/2024 that the paid receipt I have from work he did is “just a proposal” and he will not stand by his work despite the fact his company completed the faulty work that caused this calamity. I have hired a new company to repair the damage caused by this poor workmanship and have had to pay $5,800 to repair this. Three other companies I have had personally assess the damage have said the 2 inch screws to the fascia (several are self tapping for sheet metal and are not even to be used for soft wood) are not to code, should never have been used for this type of work and are the reason for the failure. They said the weight should be held up by 6 inch lag bolts to the truss ends. This was not done and the result was a failure of our screen room. We are lucky the kids weren’t hurt. The family had been unable to use the pool for 2 months in he summer, and due to the debris from the gutter falling into the pool, my pool circulation motor failed and I had to replace this as well. I have never had such a nightmare experience with a contractor who produces a faulty product and refuses to stand by their work. BEWARE.

The workers were prompt, professional, pleasant, and skillful. They communicated with me about the project and cleaned up the work area completely.

Chuck Nixon and his staff provided excellent service from beginning to end. I have an older home and installing gutters on it was a challenge. The Nixon team did a wonderful job and I am very happy with the results. I will use them again for other improvements on my home in the near future.

Chuck was polite and professional. He is personable and the only company out of 4 that was able to give me an immediate estimate. This was interesting to me because it showed his prices are what they are, period. He knew material and labor cost right away. The other three companies had to leave and call me days later which makes me wonder why. He discussed price options so it was clear he was not trying to upsell me. It is also worth noting that his price was more reasonable than the other companies'. His team was very professional and worked quickly on tear down and installation. Chuck kept in communication with me and was easy to get ahold of. We love the finished product, it's beautiful.

I have used Chuck Nixon on several occasions and he has always been professional, delivering a quality product at a reasonable price. On this particular occasion, his workers showed up as scheduled and replaced the windows and doors as agreed upon. They were mindful of everything in the house, cleaning up when the job was done. They repaired and painted the sheet rock where necessary.

All went well from salesman to delivery on time, to installation.  After installation there needed to be a little tweaking of some of the sliders and front door and this was done quickly and professionally.  This has made a huge difference to our house.  It looks gorgeous, is cooler, has more privacy due to the tinting, and the soundproofing was instantly noticeable. Other contractors have been in our house for other purposes and all have commented on the high quality installation of the windows and doors.  The job was priced competitively, but no corners were cut on the quality of the materials and standard of installation work.

The guys showed up on time and I was very impressed by all the drop clothes to protect my floors and furniture as taking out the old door was a messy process.  The new door is great quality and the installation went smoothly.  They are sending someone back to re-stucco the area around the outside of the door on top.
I used them about six years ago for new seamless gutters, of which I've had only minor issues (a bit of dripping after a major storm).  They serviced it for me at a very reasonable cost. They have also repaired screening.

My only complaint was that there were a lot of metal shavings left on the patio and inside my pool.
The actual work done was very professional and they knew exactly how to solve the problem. I would use them again.

They were very professional. I was pleased with the service. They gave me a quick appointment, everyone else was telling me that my job was too small. I would recommend them.

The project went as planned and at the estimated cost. This company exceeds all expectations. Keeps you informed at all times Arrives and leaves on time and as schudeled.

Gave them very little notice and they showed up on time and honored a bid they gave us six months earlier.  Nice guys.  Very professional.  Explained what they were doing, what the materials were, how long they would last and finished on time.  Cleaned up after themselves.   Result:  Looks like a brand new sun room after 16+ years of neglect (former owner).  

It went well and took less time that quoted.  A little pricey, but worth the service.  Chris was wonderful and his assistant most professional.  I would recommend them highly to anyone.

I thought that this would be a very positive  experience. The workers arrived on time and put the new gutters up. When I looked more closely, I noticed   that there were many more holes in the beams and that they looked "beat up" and that there was an inch gap between the  column in the top front and the gutter. Another contractor looked at it and said that the beams that had been attached to
the house.were used for  holding up the enclosure ....... thus all the extra holes.  I called the owner who was sending someone to do the screens. When the worker arrived, he told me that it would cost me alot of money to fix it.  I feel that the company is resposible for the beams. RIGHT NOW I AM STUCK PAYING AT LEAST $150 TO ANOTHER COMPANY TO FIX THESE PROBLEMS.
When the workers finished putting up the gutters, I was teft with a patio  full of leaves, screws  and shavings from the metal. No one  even tried to cleanup.

Great job.  Chuck was a true professional, showed up to provide my quote when he said he would and gave me a reasonable price and advise.  His crew showed up on time and finished on time.   A quality job

Overall I'm pleased altho' it took a long time for him to come repair the panels.  This is partly due to his small company and therefore small labor force.  I also think the 2nd repair costs were a bit excessive.

They are very good. They do little jobs and big jobs. They didn't charge me anything extra. It's a family operation and they have good equipments. They do the bending and everything right on their truck. They were very reasonable is what I thought for all the work they did. They made an appointment and showed up on time when they said. I was going to have some other things done but they said I didn't need it because everything is done. They saved me money and they only charged me for what they did.
