It was great! They were wonderful, and helped us sell our home. The finished product and communication were excellent. Great clean up, and they were being careful on our property.

In August of 2014 our old sundek was removed and replaced with Sundek by the company in a noisy and dusty process. It looked beautiful for the first few months, then within the first year, the cracks that were an issue prior to installation showed up again. I was told the two cracks in the cement below the surface would not be an issue because the workers would follow the crack lines when they created the decorative surface. After debates with the company on my disappointment for spending $6800 and having been assured those cracks would not be an issue, they finally sent someone out to paint the cracks. It was the best they were willing to offer. It is now 4 years later, and I can see where the surface is chipping off all over the surface. It looks black in the places it is chipping. After cleaning the black with simple green, I am seeing gray cement from under what looks like a very thin coat of Sundek. I don't know if my workers did not know how to apply the product or if The Sundek product used was defective, but I am extremely disappointed I ever chose this method of resusurfacing. I will NEVER recommend Sundek as a solution to resurface a deck. Save up your money for stamping concrete or paving. Sundek is a ripoff solution. I wish Cory would have warned us about the short life of Sundek.
Response from Gold Coast Surfaces Inc
"In response to the above review: Sundek is a company that takes pride in our products and workmanship. When there is a crack in the concrete it becomes a natural expansion joint. That means the concrete will expand and contract with temperature changes. We offer a solution called custom scoreline where we incorporate the cracks into a pattern and create a random design. The cracks are filled with an elastomeric material that will move along with the crack. There is always a chance that the movement will cause a hairline crack in the urethane, which all customers are informed of and which is easily repaired. The noise and dust that is caused is part of the removal process. We use vac systems to reduce the mess. It is usually 1 day. Please keep in mind that the above review is for a deck completed over 4 years ago. When the client called for repair we took care of the crack repair at no cost to the client, even though the warranty was over. Trying to match color on a 4 year old deck is not easy. When new color is applied to an older surface there will almost always be a variance. Please note that power washing improperly can damage the product. There are many untrained contractors that use to much psi. Sundek has not been called out to do any maintenance in the last 4 years excluding the crack repair. As far as Sundek being a rip off solution that is the farthest thing from the truth. We have been around since 1970 and have installed millions of square feet all around the country. We have been on Angie's List for 8 years and this is the only negative review you will find. Our company works very hard to exceed our clients expectations. Reviews like these give a bad name to good companies. Sundek, by Gold Coast Surfaces"

Sundek installed a new pool deck in July 2013. Great job, no issues, 100% positive.
Our property seems to be more susceptible to ground expansion/contraction than usual, compared to our neighbors. Living in the house for twenty seven years I've seen more cracks develop in surfaces, from the garage floor, driveway, walkways, pool deck, and swimming pool walls than I ever thought reasonable even for South Florida.  The houses here were all built at the same time, by the same builder in the late seventies. There's never been anything disastrous, but certainly noticeable.
Our new Sundek installation was no exception.
Hairline cracks appeared, grew larger with seasonal changes. Cracks in the original concrete base were noticed when two previous layers of  material were removed/repaired  prior to the Sundek install.
Sundek's warranty covered any problems caused by poor application, defective material, etc. For obvious reasons, underlying issues not created by Sundek
were not covered.
When I called Corey at Sundek for advice he stopped by the following day for a look. He was surprised by the amount of cracks, some of which were three feet long. He spent some time examining the deck looking for areas that might not have been properly applied. We found nothing suspicious, no hollow spots,
etc.
I asked for any DIY suggestions, or a ballpark figure for patching and repainting the fifteen or so assorted cracks.
He sympathized with my problem and explained that this was their busiest time with a backup of six weeks for work already contracted. If I could wait awhile until he had a crew in the area, he'd have someone come by and see what they could do.
I agreed, and their was no discussion of payment at that time.
About three weeks later,  two of Sundek's men showed up, said they were finishing a job nearby and went to check the deck out. We walked the perimeter
and found close to twenty cracks. After explaining what they would do, they got to work and spent about an hour in the ninety degree afternoon sun meticulously repairing and repainting all the damage. I'm sorry I didn't get their names because they were professional, neat, efficient and really good
technicians.
Sundek didn't charge anything for the work or materials, even though they could have, and I would have gladly paid to have the work done.
I'm happy to recommend them as reliable, efficient and dependable. And a special thanks to Corey who really is a good guy. Sundek's customer care is second to none, and I appreciate their goodwill and after-the-sale service.

My pool deck was a mess.  It was also cracked.  The workmen removed the top of the patio and created a new finish with marks to disguise any future cracking. They also installed new drains so that the patio did not retain water and mold.  The end result is beautiful and I'm extremely pleased.
The only concern I had was their punctuality.  I realize that Florida weather can alter a promised deadline; however, someone called me on several occasions and said the workmen would arrive the next morning. I made plans to be home each time and no one arrived. Then, when I wasn't expecting them, they arrived.   Once they began work, however, they worked at a steady pace and, as I said above, did a spectacular job.
My only wish was that someone would have called when they realized that they would be delayed.  I would have understood, but I also want to know.

Signed the contract proposal on 7/11, but there was a 6-8 week backlog of work on their end. Sales manager Dayna Langson thought they might be able to accommodate my job sooner if there were no weather delays, and she was right. Because the concrete surfaces were in overall good repair there was no need to remove (grind off) the existing sprayed coating. The techs arrived at my house on Monday afternoon, pressure sprayed the porch and lanai, completed the necessary repairs, and returned Tuesday morning to finish the job. They went above and beyond making sure the re-coat was applied correctly. The job went without any problems and my porch and screened lanai look better than new and they exactly matched the previous color !

The work commenced approximately 5-6 weeks after the contract was signed. We were not in any rush, so the delay didn't bother us particularly. The quality of the work was the most important thing and that was excellent. We previously had concrete coating which did not wear well, so this was a change for the better. It took some time to find the right color and the sales person had some awful suggestions that we disregarded. Eventually we did find the right color, however you must be there when the color is applied because no book or picture can adequately describe what the color will look like. Our mauve deck needed some extra white color to soften the appearance so the deck did not come out pink!
My wife presented our sales person with a discount coupon cut from a mailer. This was not readily accepted, however after my wife firmly insisted, the company did make good on the coupon.
The bottom line is that, while things were not perfect, the end result is a beautiful, easy to clean and maintain patio. Therefore we are quite satisfied some months later after the transient problems (i.e. delay and coupon) have passed away, but the excellent product remains. We have seen a good number of other pool decks, and this is superior.

It went really well. Cory the salesman came to the house and went over all the options and details. He then gave us several proposals that we could choose depending on our budget.

They were outstanding!  Our driveway, sidewalk and entryway don't have the telltale signs of pressure washing, they removed all the stains and with sealing none of the mold has returned.  They use a chemical treatment on the roof that doesn't damage the shingles like a pressure washing would and the run off didn't damage any of my grass or plants.  They were here all day and only took 1 break.
