They did everything I asked for and in a timely manner
Arlene R.
Dec 2014
He wasn't getting the work done. He was showing up late, taking long lunches, sneaking out early, and alwaya had various excuses for being absent. He threatened to quit twice. The second time, I told him that I had someone else lined up and if he wanted to quit to go ahead. He said he'd finish the work. He claimed that the delay was my fault because I kept making changes. The only changes that I actually made were that early on, before ordering, I'd asked for larger counters. I also requested a change on the placement of the peninsula and then changed my mind and requested that he place it as originially planned). I think it's very unprofessional for a contractor to be verbally abusive to a client and blame them for problems. He paid the fabricator for the granite installation and then put a stop on the check. I had to go and pay out of pocket for it, even though it was supposed to be covered by the contractor. I asked for receipts of any additional costs but all I got instead was a list of demands with no proof. He said he wouldn't work unless I gave him more money and I told him that I wouldn't give him more money until 80% of the job was done. He ended up walking out on the job. When I opened the electric range which had been wrapped up, you could see that someone had taken a hammer to it. I've had to hire someone new to come in and correct and complete the job. The work started on November 1st and he walked out on Nov 18th. I paid him almost $8,000 of the $10,000 total estimate and was left with a kitchen that wasn't even 50% finished.
