Interiors made the entire process as painless as possible. We recommend them without reservation and plan on using them again when we have future work to do.
1 Year after having my kitchen installed by Fancy Interiors, the paint started
peeling off the cabinets. When I contacted the owner, he informed me he was
very busy so I told him there was no hurry. To this day, the owner has not come
to see the condition of my kitchen, but an employee of his came by, 8 months
later, and removed some of the doors to show him what the complaint was. He
blamed me for abusing the kitchen to which shocked me, as I have no children,
(there are only two of us that live here,) or pets and rarely even use the
kitchen to cook! He proceeded to state that someone must've come to my home in
the middle of the night and smashed the cabinets.
They re-attached my cabinet doors for the Holidays. He challenged me to find
any cabinetmaker to say the paint was applied defectively. At first he said he
would re-do them and then he said I would not have to pay. I contacted the
President of the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) who informed me
the cabinets were not wood but rather melamine and MDF, which is only paintable
when applied properly and is not recommended. The only part that is actually
wood was the trim in the doors.
When I called Fancy Interiors to inform them of this he became insulted and
told me to "F*** off" and that he was not going to fix my kitchen
now. In the mean time I have gone to 7 paint re-finishers and cabinetmakers to
have them look at the drawers. They have all said that they are un-repairable.
In addition, the granite will need to be replaced and all the doors since the
trim will not match. The approximate cost for these repairs is $6,000 for the
granite and $6,000 for new doors, if I can even match the paint, which will be
hard to do because they were not factory made. None of this includes the sink
cabinet. I am very upset, as this has taken so long as well as the fact that my
kitchen is in such terrible condition. I am now forced to buy another kitchen.
The total to replace the kitchen is $16,000 - NOT including the granite,
removal, labor and more.
From a reputable company a kitchen warranty is a minimum of 15 years to life,
Fancy Interiors obviously offers no warranty.

"Lets set the record straight. (removed member name) sent us a glowing thank you for her kitchen. It was completed on time and EXACTLY as she wanted it. About 3 years later she complained of paint peeling to the doors. We went to take a look and realized this was abuse by the client along with water damage on the clients end. We brought the doors to the factory to refinish them. However, (removed member name) didn't want to pay for the repairs she had caused. We tried our hardest to help. There was nothing else we could do. We have been in business since 1983 and this is the first bad review I have ever received."
