Dr Mounir Wassef

Description of Work: Dr Wassef and his team are hands down the best dermatologist group I have been to. I reside in S. Florida and a few years ago was diagnosed with a number of different types of skin cancers. I also had a sebateous cyst on my back the size of a golf ball that I could not convince my dermatologist to remove, Many other plastic surgeons I consulted wanted to utilize anesthesia for the removal, and I felt concerned about that After being with the same dermatologist for 1 decade, I needed to make a switch. Dr Wassef came highly recommended for his both his abilities and bedside manor. His new office in Delray is 1 hour from my home, but I was hopeful the drive would be worth it. It certainly has proven to be one of the best decisions I could have made. Not only did Dr Wassef and his team identify an unusual mole, that my previous dermo was just following....but he immediately removed and biopsied it with an extremely reputable pathology lab. It turned out to be something to be concerned with and surgery was indeed necessary. Additionally, Dr Wassef and his very capable assistant Megan removed the golfball cyst that was mostly imbedded in my back. He did this with a local, as per my request because I am type 1 diabetic and do not wish to have as much control of my diabetes (ie, not go under anesthesia) and my bloodsugars as possible. The procedure took almost 2 hours and I was never uncomfortable or anxious at any time. As a matter of fact, there was a bit of laughter in the room.....Dr Wassef's bedside manor is that approachable. Overall, I would say Dr Wassef's approach is aggressive when it comes to skin cancer detection and verification. As for myself that is exactly what I am looking for.....id rather be safe than sorry. It is such a relief to find a dermatologist aligned with my desires for care. The incision for the cyst is as small as possible and healing beautifully. Dr Wassef called my house personally the evening of the procedure to "check on the patient". Now, how often does that happen!
