Terrible customer service. I had them for maintenance on 3 houses. On one they serviced the AC units on 8/3/22. I came home from vacation in mid September and the air handler had overflowed and the ceiling plaster in the kitchen below fell all over the kitchen (just renovated). They sent someone out to flush out the drain line (not properly done the first time). It became clear that the air handler was installed poorly by the developer. It wasn't on a drip pan an it didn't have a proper overflow switch. However it was never a problem over the past 8 years. I felt that Air Ref had the responsibility to 1) point out that there was no overflow switch and 2) no pan. It took 10 phone calls over 3 months to finally have Kevin, the service manager, return a phone call! It then leaked again and made another mess. I decided to replace the unit and properly reinstall it. Kevin was going to help absorb some of the cost. His estimate? $9,200. I got another estimate for $7,200. Same equipment. Finally had it replaced in January 2023 and repaired my ceiling.

Perfect. The tech showed up the same day I called to arrange an appointment. 45 min. later the installation was done. Everything was proficient and professional. The price was reasonable. Absolutely no complaints.

No matter which serviceman comes, it's always the same professional, courteous, friendly excellent job. I feel like one of my close relatives has just taken care of all my air needs, and when I see an Air Ref truck on the road, I wave. What a great bunch of people, and the customer service staff goes out of their way to insure satisfaction. Great crew!

Steven refused to climb a ladder to check my vents when his employee under him was willing to do so. He also continuously droned on and on about how the air conditioner was removing humidity when his own humidity readings matched the outdoor humidity. Wrote a long report about how nothing can be done. Big waste of time and money. Never again.

please see the above.  It's all there.

My A/C just stopped. I called & he was there in a few hours. He checked the system & said the condenser motor was not working.  He had another new motor in the truck and would install it.  The cost would be $450.00.  I said OK and went  into the house.  About 5 minutes later he knocked on the door and said the motor had stopped because a curly tail lizard had gotten stuck between the motor fan blades:when he removed the lizard the fan started working.and the fee for his services was $80.00 Diagnostic Fee.
AIR-REF is a keeper!

Ernest was a blessing in disguise. His knowledge of thermodynamics was a real breath of fresh air (pun intended!). He was completely professional and went above and beyond to try to resolve my issue, while also keeping it real. Additional work may need to be done, but that is no fault of this company.

Dimmer switch was hot to the touch. I asked them to return and check it out. The dimmer they installed was a 600 watts dimmer, but it should have been a 1000 watts dimmer based on the lighting they had installed. They charged me for the new dimmer, and the full service call (to correct the mistake they had made which put my home at risk for an electrical fire!) I disputed the service charge, and asked their manager to call me. Instead of calling me back, they had their lawyer call me. The manager made no effort to guarantee the quality of work from his employees. I don't feel safe using them anymore.

Response from Air-Ref Co
"We are disappointed to hear that you are not pleased with our services as stated in your review. However, upon review, we did have a senior technician meet with you in your home to review your original issue that was called in to our office which was to repair your thermostat and examine your existing duct work for poor air flow. He determined the duct work was in extremely poor shape and very undersized for the tonnage of your HVAC system and also pulling apart at the seams. He felt obligated to call in a comfort consultant due to requiring pricing for the proper sized duct system. In review of your proposal submitted on 6/29/2015 by our comfort consultant, we proposed to upsize your complete duct system to the required size for a 5 ton HVAC system for a grand total of $5,555.00 (including all taxes and Highland Beach building permits) which also included replacing your existing drier exhaust which was faulty and leaking into your attic and this all included a $300.00 discount for being a loyal longtime customer. We are sorry to hear your dissatisfaction, but we at Air-Ref always make sure our customers comfort and interests come first and not the dollar. We would never attempt to sell you an item or service you wouldn’t benefit from. Air-Ref has never had a business plan of that sort. We strive to make sure our customers are always satisfied and keep them coming back for years to come (12 plus years like you stated). We would love the opportunity to earn your business back in the future."

They did an amazing job. I am really pleased with the work and their design. I looked at 3 companies and got 3 prices and 3 different designs. I am so happy with the company I choose. Not the cheapest but definitely the BEST.  The owner came out here twice himself to tweak the system to make it the best it could be. They people are pros and really good people. I used their in house electric guys and they were the same. Really responsive, professional and fair. I would highly recommend them.

I was so happy that Air Ref could squeeze me into their schedule as my a/c unit had broken down and I was going out of town the next day.  The tech arrived on time, was very professional, and was able to have the a/c unit working again in no time.  This is my new a/c company from now on.  They were recommended by someone else and have been in business for over thirty years and it is easy to why they have been in business for so long.  They provide great customer service.

Angie's List had a special of $195.00 to 1.  change the oil, 2. change the oil filter, 3.  check running voltage, 4.  check Hertz, 5. check air cleaner.  I have to assume this work was done properly as I rely a great deal on the recommendations of Angie's List.  However, an additional charge of $131.89 to change four spark plugs and one air filter which has a retail cost of  $36.95 is not acceptable. The technician said he had to charge me an additional charge of $80.00 for labor.  This should have been a part of a tune up.  I noticed this company is from Delray Beach, Fl.  that is quite a distance to Port St Lucie, Fl but that does not constitute an overcharge.  In addition when the technician came to the new house to give me a price on a new generator, as you can imagine, I was not interested.

Zack and Troy were quick and thorough, they explained what they were going to do, and when I asked them details, they took the time to explain the repair process. We were really pleased with the job they did for us! I would always recommend getting these guys to quote your job no matter how big or small. Oh, also a big shout-out to Gerri, when I first called, she was very pleasant and knew exactly how to assist. Good job Air-Ref!

They determined it is working according to specs. We are still uncertain due to the cooling effects are friends in similar units are experiencing.

Compressor unit stopped running night before.  I had previously had capacitor and motor replaced by another company, but they were unable to come out during the day, so I contacted Air-Ref.    Air Ref was able to come out in their scheduled window and diagnosed the capacitor problem-- the one replaced by the previous company was not the proper size so it eventually failed.  The technician also made show the unit was working properly after replacing the capacitor.  All in all, it was very good service and very reasonably priced based on previous experiences
