St John Club Day Spa

David was the stylist I selected based on reviews to give my 18-year old daughter a pixie cut based on Anne Hathaway's picture.  I was not there to assist her in communicating her choice, but she had pictures in hand and this was a gift for her for Christmas from me.  She said he was rude and had a chip on his shoulder the entire time - disengaged probably because she is a teenager and many people have problems with customers being teenagers, whether they admit it or not.  She came home with a Justin Bieber haircut.  I tried to let it be because she thought it was okay at first, but then she was like, 'MOM!!! It's horrible!!!'  I, personally, had to fix it (I have been cutting hair for years on the side) and took 3+ inches off the sides and back to get her hair within reasonable limits of what she wanted in the beginning.  And this was AFTER she said she communicated with David that her hair was not right and he went back and took more off. And the color was too dark, too.  He got NOTHING right.  We won't be back to David.

My previous stylist moved, so I turned to Angie's List and found St John. I booked an appointment with David in February and have been going back ever since then. He listened to me, only offered suggestions when I asked, and he got it absolutely perfect the first time. OMG a stylist that listens and then follows through !! He's not a Chatty Cathy either - so he's punctual and 'present' every moment I'm in his chair. St John is comfortably professional, not a snooty, high-brow, cold environment or grumpy/bitchy employees. From the moment you meet and quot;The Director of First Impressionsand quot; as she calls herself with a smile, the entire feel is 'happy' and you hair looks terrific too. Love it !

She's friendly and good. She tries to really do what I ask her to do. The office environment is great. They are friendly and they welcome me in. There is not much office staff there.

The color was perfect and it was one of the best salons I have ever been to.

This was one of the best salon experiences I've ever had. From the minute I called to make the appointment until I walked out with my brand new 'do, I was given prompt, professional, and courteous service (even though I called and arrived at the wrong place - twice - the spa and salon are in separate locations and I had a hard time getting that through my head, hehe). They had appointments available the week after I called, so I did not have to wait long to get into the salon. I arrived a little early for my first appointment, and they were ready for me within 5 minutes of my appointment time, which is GREAT and increasingly rare, in my opinion.
I have weird requirements for my hair styles/color, I don't want to look and quot;natural,and quot; I want edgy stuff. I understand that edgy is not always pretty with my face and body type, so I tend to listen to my stylist's suggestions. My stylist was *fantastic* from the first moment to the last; she listened to what I wanted, asked pertinent questions, then made suggestions about what she felt would be best. And she was 100% correct about it all. I ended up getting a shoulder-length cut with layers throughout (because my hair is naturally wavy, and that cut brought out the natural curl, which is exactly what I wanted. My color ended up being a mix of a plummy red and and quot;trueand quot; red, with a few pieces of very blonde hair sprinkled throughout. It looks AMAZING! If I wear my hair down, pulled off my face, or up, the hair color looks very different, which is great. I started as a very ashy dishwater blonde, and I'm middle-aged, so this was a fabulous change for me. I've gotten tons of compliments already!
Not only will I be back, but I will be singing the praises of St. John's Club salon for years to come. It was a stellar experience from start to finish!

It started with my phone call. The receptionist was professional, polite and extremely helpful. She told me that all their stylist stay. And from my experience I understand why.

I arrived for my appointment, and Sharon was waiting for me. I've been going here for a few years, and she's GREAT. She checked the growth of my roots (I have some gray and get it colored every 5 weeks or so), chatted with me for a couple of minutes, and then went back and mixed my color. She worries about your clothes getting stained, so is extra vigilant about the cape. Put my color on, and stuck me under the dryer for maybe 20 minutes. Back to the sink, excellent wash and condition, then back to her chair. Sometimes she's double-booked, and will have someone else wash and condition, but not often. You never sit around and wait! The staff is great.
Sharon is perhaps the best colorist I've ever had work on my hair... we've done just my roots, or all over color, highlights, starbursts... my color always looks natural and gorgeous. I'm always complimented on my hair at work, and a couple of my coworkers have already started going to her!
It's an upscale salon, so you're going to pay a little more, but I think it's worth it for the service I get from Sharon and everyone else there, and I can't imagine going anywhere else!

Everyone is wonderful; that's why I keep going back. They have new people coming in. My stylist is wonderful. The price is a little pricey but we girls have to have what we want. It's pricey but they do a good job. They are one of the best salons; I wouldn't go anywhere else. Because I've been going there for years it's very comfortable for me; I know everybody there. It's a great place to go; iIt's a great spa and beauty shop. St. John keeps their stylists. I know when I go, my regular stylist is going to be there. It's nice to have the same stylist. They use great products. The stylist is honest and gives good suggestions. He gives me a lot of options and doesn't always do what he did the last time. Everyone in the salon is very professional; there's no yelling across to each other. It's comfortable and quiet. You can get your toenails painted if you want to.
